It is gonna be hard to stop Godfrey because he is a veteran sparring partner and covers up we'll I believe if Joell does come to win he will probably get stopped but if he comes to survive then Jordan will not stop him it is a good fight on paper no matter what anyone thinks it is not a complete miss match but Jordan will be a heavy favorite

It looks like it is going to be a stacked card with quite a few bouts.

I am impressed great win for Jordan I knew he would win but by stoppage is impressive for sure great win

Thanks Galen. Jordan came out of the fight unscathed. He barely got hit during the 6+ rounds of action except for a bunch of deliberate low blows. Stoppage at 1:17 of the 7th round.

Nice win Dennis. Nice big jump from 79 to 54 in the IWBR.

OK, I can understand Durodola but a fight with Andres Taylor isn't much of a step up. Taylor has lost 5 of his last 6.

Shimmell is a better boxer than durodola... that fight would only be a chin checker imo

A good fight that would put Shimmell in the "best USA cruiser" conversation would be Fields. I think the timing would be right too

Fields would be good for the simple reason he won a questionable 3-2 split decision over Jordan in the 2006 National Golden Gloves finals when Jordan was 17.

Jordan has a decent chin but we don't want to prove it very often. We much prefer excellent defense so it doesn't get touched.

Jordan dominated the fight with Joell Godfrey.
Godfrey's record 17-11-1 without being stopped.
Jordan stopped him at the beginning of the 7th round.
Jordan is now 17-0-0 with 14 tko's. Godfrey had 2 point reduction
for low blows. The fight took place at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas
9/11/14.

Jordan pummeled Godfrey from the opening bell and had him starting to bleed late in the 1st round. By the end of the 2nd round, Godfrey was already bleeding heavily. Godfrey was a bloody mess from the 3rd round until it was stopped in the 7th. Jordan had to get wiped down at the end of every round to clean off all of Godfrey's blood that was on him.

Jordan did what nobody else had done and that is to defeat Joell Godfrey by KO/TKO. Jordan even had to recover from a bunch of fouls including some deliberate low blows by Godfrey.

I was hoping TheBeast would put up highlights of Jordan Shimmell's bout with Godfrey.
