Following the lower weights takes a lot of hard work and dedication. It's not unlike butterfly collecting or serious anthropological study. Pastimes that have tremendous depth and complexity yet are completely overlooked or scoffed at by the masses.

I'd say following Heavyweights right now takes more dedication ;)

I'm interested in fights. Not divisions. The best fights are the best fights. We never ignore Lionel Messi due to his size.

I'm also interested in well matched fights irrespective of the division. I don't think the Lionel Messi argument doesn't stand up to scrutiny though. Get back to me when Floyd takes on Wlad and wins.

Without wishing to talk for the lad who made the point, I rather took it as saying "you wouldn't stop watching a footballer 'cos of his stature, would you?" rather than...

It's more I mean that what he meant. I can understand why some people only focus their attention on the open/heavyweight division.

I find domestically the lower weights have fewer fighters so can come a bit of a round robin; with some opponents facing each other 3-4 times
