He's going to come harder, fitter and leaner Saturday. People talk about how Maidana can do any better... The guy keeps getting better. Unless Floyd's Arizaed up to the gills, I think it's Chino's night.
Maidana has improved every time out under Garcia.

I fear the same thing is going to happen in this fight only Maidana will look more improved. I also think all of the out-of-the-ring stuff is weighing on Floyd, and for the first time, I think he may not be 100% focused on this fight. And if that's the case, I can see Floyd getting caught and knocked out. It's basically a perfect opportunity for Maidana. It's a perfect storm brewing right now and at no other time in Floyd's career has there been this great of an opportunity for his opponent to capitalize.
Wishful thinking.

Not really. I am not just calling this out of thin air. I have my reasons.

Wrong guy pal.
I do prefer Pacs style over Floyd but was happy as f*ck when Marquez layed his ass out cold.
With that said and like I said mark my words Floyd will do what I said he will do for 12rds WATCH.

I don't buy into the idea that was being peddled post fight by Mayweather fans that Floyd fought a different fight 'for the fans' nor do I believe he could've schooled Maidana first time round if he'd wanted to. I think he fought his best fight and struggled with Maidana legitimately. Floyd is a multimillionaire at the top of the sport and revels in the idea that he is a businessman, not just a boxer. There's no way he would've intentionally put himself in more harm just to make a more exciting fight, its not his style and its not something he's ever shown us that he is about.
That said, I think he is the best fighter in the world and has the best boxing brain and having shared the ring with Maidana once already it will be him that makes the better adjustments for the rematch. I think Floyd will start better and Maidana will burn more energy trying to pin Floyd down this time. I thought the first fight was close and competitive, I think this one will be much easier for Floyd..... Not gonna lie though, I'd love to see Maidana cause an upset.

I guess maybe I wouldn't buy it either, if he had not said
before the fight that was what he was going to do.

I guess some will be disappointed if the ref allows Maidana to use double leg takedowns, arm twisting, rabbit punches, low blows, head butts, etc?
If you are also bored with someone using their full skill set to dominate their opponent instead of
trading head shots like a man should, then don't tune in.

So you're honestly suggesting that Floyd intentionally made the fight harder, more dangerous and more competitive all so he didn't break a prefight promise to his fans?

I am saying he very clearly said before the fight that he would not be running and stand toe to toe to make it an exciting fight for the fans. Is it that hard to understand? Maidana's dirty tactics that were not controlled by the ref is what made it closer than it would have been. Maidana should have had several points deducted in that fight, or DQ'd. In his defense though, if a ref is incompetent enough to allow it, why stop.

I'm surprised so many on here think Maidana wins this. I'd be genuinely flabbergasted if Floyd lost tomorrow. He took his time to get used to Maidana's rugged style last time out but once he did he won the fight pretty comfortably. This time I don't think the same element of surprise will be there and I can see Floyd winning either a total shut out or a 118-110 type decision.

His head movement will always be there, so I think he could weather the storm.... mind you, he didnt have to take this rematch, but he did it anyways--- an indicator to me, at least, that he knows he will win this again.
Maidana, on the other hand, has the most to lose. He's convinced millions of people that he is that good, and that he was even robbed (in some circles). He knows he has to be more conditioned, more explosive, and have a higher work rate, and because of this--- he will be leaving himself all the more open to counters. Call me crazy... but either Maidana is gonna catch Mayweather and hurt him, or Mayweather is gonna catch him coming in, and its over.
I disagree. Even if Maidana loses badly, for a fighter of his caliber to have a sure PPV rematch with Broner waiting on him, he's done better than better fighters than himself. I do agree that the media is blowing him out of proportion due to the first Floyd fight.

He won't win a decision anyway. He's gonna rough Floyd the eff up and KO him. I don't think they care about rounds, Team Maidana wouldn't talk so much about it being a foul fest again if they did. They know a UD is out of the question. It's just going to be pure violence reigned down on Floyd.
H
e might dance away and potshot. But I think he could've done that last time, but he didn't. What I mean is, he didn't cos he couldn't.
I don't get the, "I wanted to give the fans a good show" Even though I don't believe that being possible with the Cotto fight. Cotto did everything by the book. I just can't see Floyd letting Maidana rough him up and foul him without moving away if he could.

And those "double leg takedowns, arm twisting, rabbit punches, low blows, and head butts" are the very reason I don't buy that Floyd stood right there to "give the fans a good fight" What boxer would intentionally get fouled repeatedly just to "give the fans a good show" let alone the one fighter that's very candid about not taking punishment?
If Floyd could've avoided fouls by moving more away from Maidana in the first fight, he surely would have. But I expect Floyd to counterpunch more, have his gameplan more solid, and for Bayless to be all over Maidana.

Regardless of what he said before the fight, you're saying he made a point to carry out his promise by taking "MMA submission holds" from Maidana no purpose when he had to option not to? Yeah...sure

Here are some additional facts to consider…
Marcos Maidana outweighed Floyd Mayweather Jr. by 17lbs when both men entered the ring in their first fight (i.e. 165 lbs to 148 lbs).
When you combine Maidana’s physical size advantage with an unreasonably lenient referee like Tony Weeks, who allowed Marcos get away with some disgracefully extreme rough-house tactics, it’s fairly easy to see why the Argentinian managed to achieve some early success.
Floyd’s critics persistently dwell on the fact that Maidana landed more punches on Mayweather in comparison to Floyd’s fights against Canelo, Guerrero and Cotto, but they conveniently ignore the fact that Marcos had actually thrown several hundred punches more (i.e. 332 more than Canelo; 277 more than Guerrero; and 352 more than Cotto).
People also forget that Floyd Mayweather only threw 49% of the punch total that Maidana had thrown, but more of his shots connected.
To put things into context, when we compare power shots thrown by Maidana and Canelo when they fought Mayweather, Marcos threw the “same” amount punches during the first four rounds (231) of his fight than Alvarez could manage throughout the entire 12 round of his contest (232).
People say that Mayweather Jr. is a shot fighter and that “his legs have gone”, but I would argue that the first fight was unusual because no opponent has ever outweighed Floyd by such a margin, the ref was extremely lenient on Maidana and no fighter has ever thrown remotely close the amount of shots that Marcos did.
Very well said. By far the best post in this entire thread, imo.

Victor Ortiz was 162

This card is ashtray.
Floyd will bike his way to a clear decision.
Vazquez will outclass Bey in a snoozer.
Angulo will win an ugly fight. That's probably the most fun fight to watch tho since he doesn't defend himself.
Santa Cruz in another rout.

I don't think a maidana victory is that far fetched, he knows what to do, if his stamina holds up he could outwork Floyd

None of them weighed more than 165lb and Maidana threw far more than 300 punches against Mayweather than all of these guys. ;;-)
But all were within maybe 2-3lbs of Maidana which isn't much and Maidana throwing 300 more punches against Mayweather isn't as much a size issue as it's an ability issue.
I have a hard time believing both Canelo and Oscar were that much smaller than Maidana. I'm pretty sure Oscar was around 165+ in the ring with Floyd

I think Floyd is off his game as well, mainly because of his age. That being said, he will make Maidana look like a sparring partner and beat the poo out of him. If Floyd wasn't worried about hurting his hands his fight would not last eight rounds.
This fight will not be as close as he first fight and it would not surprise me to see Floyd destroy Maidana to the body and make him take a ten count. For all his toughness, Chino can't take it to the body.
Floyd will stop Chino tonight with body shots and unanswered punches to the head. Sorry, Chino, your moment of fame has come and gone. Sweet dreams, victim. Hope you don't sustain any head trauma. You are a fan's dream. But you are in for a complete ass whooping.
