Now will Johnson fight someone else for the IBF title, maybe he can get a bigger pay day against Tarver or DM. Looks like Calzaghe is back to square 1

To be honest I couldn't care less at the moment. I'm finding the whole UK boxing scene a bit frustrating just now

IMO The bill should to be postponed or at least refunds clearly offered, its not just one fighter pulled out. Its the main event, the geniune world title fight. Unless they can find a suitable last minute opponent for Johnson (Peter Oboh?) then I think its should be postponed.
Its not like Watching a Rolling Stones concert without Mick and Keith, its like watching a rolling stones concert with just the support group. If SN can find an opponent, then it will be acceptable.

When Calzaghe/Johnson was first announced, I was very surprised because Johnson, though no longer young, is the kind of guy who always comes to fight, has been in with the best and almost always been very competitive (multiple scrwings by opponents' hometown judges notwithstanding), i.e. he's unlike any opponent the highly protected Calzaghe has ever faced. I even suggested that Warren might have seriously miscalculated if he wanted to preserve one of his cash cow's undefeated record. Now Calzaghe has been carrying on with this piece of skirt, fighting with the estranged wife, apparently doing everything other than prepare for a fight.
Almost as if he knew for some time now that the fight wasn't going to happen.
Bad back, my ass. What a tosser.
How much do you want to bet he gets his WBO title handed back to him on a platter?

This 'show', if it happens, will most likely become another mundane Shatton WBUllshit defence, while Fagzaghe will fade back into the boxing abyss from where he came, fighting obscure mandatories and talking like a big man in the interviews afterwards. His big chance came and he blew it, what a loser. Sad that Fritz Wanker proves once again he can not pull off a big show (or doesn't want to). The upper body of British boxing has cancer.

Unlike last time where they had to wait till 2 days before the event to announce it.

Calzaghe pulls out of a genuine world title shot on home soil against a 35-year-old champion seven days before the fight! Jesus. Twenty years ago, no fighter would have turned down such an opportunity. But with all these joke world titles nowadays, fighters know they can be brought back for some form of a world title.
Sad day.

Joe Calzaghe has been ruled out of his IBF light-heavyweight challenge on Saturday against Glencoffe Johnson with a back injury.
However promoter allegedly is confident of rearranging the fight, and will talk with Johnson's handler Dan Goosen on Monday.
WBO super-middleweight champion Calzaghe was due to fight Johnson at the MEN Arena, headling with Ricky Hatton, on June 12.
But he has been suffering with a bad back for some time, and it has failed to respond to treatment.
"Joe has been seeing a top specialist in London, but is unable to risk not being 100% fit for such a big fight," said Warren.
And he dismissed concerns over Calzaghe's mental well-being following a number of tabloid newspaper reports on the state of his marriage.
"Joe has a number of things going on his private life at the moment, but he was fully focussed on the fight," confirmed Warren.
"As for the next step, I will begin negotiations with Goosen tomorrow, and we will reschedule the fight."
Warren is also hoping to add another fight to Saturday night's card tomorrow.
WBU light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton will still tackle Carlos Wilches on the top of the bill.
