I'm not a fan of matchroom's recent exploits (one sided match ups etc.) but they are a business. There just aren't enough hardcore boxing fans around so they do need to appeal to the masses to make a profit. I will say though, they should be trying to cater for us hardcore fans to by putting some on good old fashioned trade fights.

I like how Golden Boy addressed this by putting on Garcia vs Matthysse. That PPV probably would have sold just as well without that match up but he put it on anyway.

Really shortsighted view by Matchroom, who would benefit from people reading Boxing News, because they write about their boxers. But Matchroom's commitment to boxing is not set in stone. It makes no difference to them if they make money from boxing, or fishing, or darts, or poker.
