The full power of the Sky machine will make it happen .
Stop thinking like a boxing fan.
They will will make this an event not a fight.
If 10% of the buyers for Froch Groves 1 take it they're over the line.
Do you seriously think Landlords will not bother ?

I understand how Sky will attempt to market the fight, but surely an event needs at least 1 big name to sell it?

I'm not looking at it as a boxing fan, quite the opposite - in trying to explain my unhappiness about the PPV to my mates, it's obvious that they don't care because they've barely heard of either fighter. It's easy to forget just how little Cleverly & Bellew are known outside of boxing fans.

Usually when a PPV is announced I'll get at least a couple of mates asking if I'm planning on buying it, but no-one's even mentioned this one, there seems to be absolutely zero interest in this fight from the casual fan. I should perhaps also point out that I'm from Cardiff & Cleverly is relatively well-known here, so the lack of local interest is a worrying sign in itself.

Obviously this is only my own limited experience, maybe others have experienced otherwise, but I just don't see who this PPV is supposed to appeal to.

Which is precisely why I said it will do 10% of what Froch Groves did ! You said a thousand sales - that's plainly ridiculous. Trust me the Lemins out there in the next few weeks will think its David and Goliath by the time the marketing people have done.
