If Wlad wants to fight again in the states, he needs an American opponent to help him sell tickets to the event, and to get it on a premium network channel.
Agreed Mr Geto, but Wlad would beat any of the American Heavyweights, he doesn't necessarily need to go to these measures. It would be easy enough to get an undefeated American contender and bill him against Wlad as "the great American hope". It wouldn't exactly be difficult to sell the concept of the next American heavyweight Champ.

Agreed, and I just read this. Plus I think Briggs trains at the same boxing gym. Isn't it Fifth Street?

Agreed. Wlad could have the fight in the US and stop Stiverne wouldn't go the 12 rounds, plus Wlad would be picking up the WBC Title as well. He'd become the first Heavyweight Champion in history to hold all four titles at the same time.

After Wlad beats Pulev I think he will make a voluntary defence against Briggs, and then seek to fight the Stiverne-Wilder winner.

Ha, Briggs is such a clown. I bet partying with him would be a blast though.

That was entertaining. I'd really like to believe it is legitimate... but my intellect will not allow it.

The restaurant scene was clearly staged, what makes you think this wasn't? I can assure you that Briggs doesn't scan the Florida coastline with binoculars looking for a 'Wlad' sighting.

I do agree that Wilder would sell a fight. However, Wilder would have to want to fight Wlad. I don't see Wilder taking that on anytime soon. Maybe near the end of Wlad's run, we'll hear Wilder want a match. For Wlad, not that he would avoid the fight, but Wilder does have a shot to win if he lands. It would make for a very tentative fight on both sides, where U.S. fans would bash him for another boring fight. Briggs on the other hand is a walking punching bag. Wlad avoids Brigg's 4 KO punches a round, then lights his ass up. Again from the non boxing or really casual fan, they know Briggs. He's been in the sport for years and fought some huge names. Briggs has had small roles in movies, tv shows, and videos. People know who he is by face, if not by name, at least they know he boxes. Wilder, unless you are an actual boxing fan, you have zero clue who he is.

I understand many think this is staged but what exactly is Wladimir gaining from it other than making himself look stupid?

Maybe he's getting a kick out of the wrestling type schtick. He's been the best for a long time, is married to a hot young actress and has loads of money. Maybe he's bored.

I find it hard to believe he can get bored having a hot young actress :OhYes:

two options:

1. shannon gets the fight sooner or later.
2. wladimir will take legal action. you can't
stalk another person for ever and get away
with it.

i think it will be no2., since wlad had similar
experience with haye and is probably tired of
it, unless it becomes a real public thing and
can turn in as much money as haye did. then
wladimir would take the gift.

but shannon is not the attraction that haye
was back then, he is too clearly a beaten
up, old boxer, no matter how well his cardio
workouts make him look like …

i for one think this could set a dangerous
example if it is allowed to go further. i
could imagine the sanctioning authorities
might threaten to take away briggs's license.
champs have a right for privacy too and it
is the rankings that should decide who gets
a shot at the man.

Possible answers to how Briggs knows where Wlad is all the time and also in regards to it being a set up between them http://www.BS.com/briggs-getti ... hko--83089

Yeah, I can immediately tell the one out of us three that is not married...

Well whats he supposed to say "yea we are staging this to make a HW title fight, maybe in the US, vs me a guy who ain't sh!t these days"? This is some sh!t that won't be admitted to til Shannon or Wlad writes their post boxing book.

I see your point but in regards to him knowing where Wlad is all the time it also makes sense.

I can't help but laugh it's so ridiculous.
The previous skit while Wladimir was eating in a restaurant was so staged.
Shannon "I eat what the champ eats" Briggs stuffing food in his mouth was precious.
Too funny.

Tell me you are trolling. You're too good a poster to really believe that. Please tell me.

Unless Briggs has placed a GPS tracker up Wlad's ass, I'm pretty sure that this is staged. The next video we see, Wlad will be camping in an underground tunnel in a mountain in Afghanistan, and Shannon will be like "AHAHAHAH, I FOUND YA CHAMP! EVERYWHERE YOU CAMP, I CAMP! EVERYWHERE YOU HIKE, I HIKE!" and some people will swear that Shannon is just that damned good at tracking human prey.

I'm having flashbacks to Rod Serling's character Mountain Rivera...

Either Briggs is completely desperate for money... or he's a complete nut case...

Have him fight Tyson Fury first... at least we'd all get a million dollar gate out of it, on shit talk alone.

They should fight for free on Friday and broadcast the press conference on pay-per-view on Saturday.
