Walters v Donaire was a good fight, first 3 rounds looked like it could build into a FoTY one, but once Walters knocked Donaire down it changed the fight and ultimately the younger stronger fighter came through. Walters has a great jab really busted up Donaire with it, although he knocked him out with a right hand Walters looks like he could do with some work on that part of his game.

I watched it through download, and the HBO commentary team are excellent. RJJ really comes across well on it, giving excellent insight into the mindset of a boxer.

Who would you like to see GGG matched with? Looking at the MW top 10 there's hardly anyone who I would consider a step up from the likes of Geale and Macklin, and one of the best hypothetical opponents in Quillin just vacated his title when he was being paid $1.4 million to defend it against a very beatable opponent. Chavez-GGG was in the works, but Chavez had problems with Arum and ended up not signing despite millions being offered. Cotto is obviously the lineal champion and very proven in lower divisions, but I don't see him doing much better than most of GGG's recent opponents have and because of the state Sergio was in for their bout I'm still not sure how good of a MW Cotto even is.

For most realistic step-ups to happen he can't stay at MW in my opinion. If he does, I think the best realistic 2015 would be something like Murray, Korobov-Lee winner, Cotto-Canelo winner, and a top 15 type like David Lemieux.

i think Walters jab and obvious size was the telling difference, but that jab is powerful and accurate. He reminds me of the late Vernon forrest. The jab was a thing of beauty.

It seemed to rock Donaires head back at will and did a lot of superficial damage. Im sure it keeps his opponents thinking "i cant be taking these all night".

That Walters kid will do some damage in that division. To think Lee Selby in that weight. Ha ha ha, they're worlds apart.

Massive respect to Donaire for going out in his shield like a true champ and for even fighting Walters in the first place,i thought Nonito started well and will be gutted he never had more time to capatilise when he hurt Nicholas at the end of the 2nd but he wanted to stand and trade with Nicholas when maybe using his speed to dart in and out would have been the safer option but thats not what Donaire's all about,he wants to please the fans and fight the best and i hope he moves back down and fights on coz he's defintely not finished IMO

Walters was class too,i thought he wouldnt be able to catch Donaire enough to win it on points or to even stop him,i felt Donaire would have edged it on points but Walters power was far too much and i cant wait to see him again,a fight with Gonzalez would be fun

Yeah long time since I've heard a true Jamaican accent on a major world champ, reminded me of Bramble too . And his chin looks just as good. I wasn't sure he'd be able to take the Donaire power, but the Jamaican looks that rarity: a hell of a puncher with a hell of a chin. He showed in the second round that he's got a world-class chin, and that uppercut that dropped Nonito was Tyson-esque.

He is some fighter.
