He's only following the script about what the latest news is and impending fights.
He's Sky's head of boxing, he writes the script, he's responsible for the shite we're served up on a regular basis by Hearn and the shite they talk on ringside.
Exactly. Smith is a hapless buffoon and his ringside show is a toe curling embarrassment. Boxing deserves so much better

I think Joshua is everything Dixon wishes he was... He laughably tells how he went to America to train to be a boxer before he decided to become a writer. Big he is and I'm sure he would be strong in a street fight, but I've seen him on the pads and I think his own shadow would outbox him.
And I agree about the Hearn PR stuff - and this is why he could not even being himself to condemn the Bellend - Clev PPV debacle.
As for ringside - have they ever said anything vaguely controversial? It seems Ringside only exists as an advertorial for SKY shows and PPV. And to fuel adam's ego

I'm tired of the Smith-Nelson double act on Ringside. I feel it's run its course now and needs to be shaken up. As far as the content goes, I don't rate it much either. Sometimes they seem to be serving up what they think the public want to hear and trying to inject hype when it isn't really necessary. There isn't enough cutting-edge news or perspective. That podcast with Fearon, on the other hand, is much more like it. Bunce is good too.

Whenever I watch Ringside I kind of wonder what the point of it is.
As it is only once a week it cant deliver breaking news, as a magazine show it fails to deliver any really interesting features and the pundits they get on are very predictable in what they say and dont really offer much.
It's a shame as it would appear (and I am second guessing a tad) that Sky definitely have the budget and demand for a better quality boxing programme.
