I'd say Froch is the only Brit who has any chance against GGG outside of our heavies. I'd still make GGG favourite but Froch is a genuine elite fighter, GGG hasn't faced anyone like him yet so who knows...
If we're saying anyone outside of HW then I'd probably go for Ola Afolabi.
Afolabi has sparred Triple G and has nothing but praise for the middleweight phenom:

Both Canelo and Cotto would get destroyed in a similar fashion. Both of them are too small and even if they were the same size they would be up against it to begin with.
There's not much of a size difference between GGG and Canelo, GGG looks like he could even do LMW, I agree with Ian I think Lara's movement would cause him problems but he'd have to play the matador again like in the Canelo fight.
I love watching him but he needs a test, its like when Martinez was coming up and no one wanted to fight him either.

Been a fan for a while now, he looks terrifying to share a ring with.

I'd love to see a genuine master boxer take him on. someone really slick with incredible movement and defensive skills, i'd love to see how that would pan out.

It causes Diddy unspeakable anguish and agony, but I believe GGG would beat Ward if they were to meet.

I can't see a scenario where Ward controls GGG all night with just fouling and mauling. Golovkin is going to land hard. He'll land on anyone. And Ward doesn't have the power or volume to control him.

The fight won't happen though.

Get GGG over to the City Ground so Froch can expose him Bute style! Nah I'm joking, would love to see the fight though. I'd find it hard to chose a winner. One of the best chins in boxing vs one of the best digs. But GGG also seems to have a good chin and Froch decent power. Very intriguing fight and not a one horse race as some seem to think!

Surely only Chris Eubank Jnr can stop GGG's march to greatest now.....

Hopefully he steps upto 168lbs soon when he realises Canelo and Cotto want no part of him.

Canelo would be a good fight though; Canelo isn't as tall as GGG but he'd weight about the same if not more come fight night.

Canelo is a middleweight masquerading as a lightmiddleweight.

Cotto would surely get brutalised. He beat Martinez impressively but Sergio had looked vulnerable for a few years.

My only thing with GGG is that he doesn't look a big middleweight. Not sure about a move to super middle.

Quillin woild still be a decent fight. I've seen him in the gym and he's a huge middleweight

I honestly think Canelo would get smashed in similar fashion to GGG's most recent victims. I dont think Canelo would have a good enough beard to hang in there

Quillin is the one guy at middleweight that im intrigued to see Golovkin against. I think Gennady would still probably win but it would be interesting.

I'm struggling to imagine how quillin would approach a ggg fight. He seems to be quite big and athletic but i don't think his fundamental technique is that solid- whilst in theory he's one of ggg's premier prospective opponents, i actually think he would produce a stinker if they fought. I think he'd do an awful lot of moving and not much punching. I just get the impression he's a real on top fighter lacking intestinal fortitude.

I think he's got fairly decent counter punching ability Quillin and pretty good power. Not Golovkin level power but enough to be dangerous if you dont respect it. I see what you mean about his technique though. A bit on the dodgy side.

Maybe... I don't think he had many amateur fights so he lacks the experience to take on GGG. I mean let's be clear, he avoided Korobov which would've been $1.5 mil in the bank.

He can at least punch

ithink he'd keep his hands at home, and be well-advised to do so. He throws wide from what i have seen, think ggg would punch holes in him down the middle, and quickly, too

He didnt avoid Korobov. He contractually wasnt allowed to take that fight. In his contract with Haymon (it's in all the haymon clients contracts) there's some kind of stipulation regarding boxing on a promotion that Haymon doesnt approve of or something. I'm not sure exactly what it was but Dan Rafael had tweeted a load of stuff about it. I really dont believe Quillin would of been scared to fight Korobov, especially not for 1.5 million. Golovkin i can see it but not Korobov who is a decent fighter but Quillin would of had a strong chance beating.

Yeah, he does punch a bit on the wide side. I think as Reggae said in his post, i think he had very little amateur experience which means his technique like it would of otherwise.

He's a pretty long-armed dude, guys like that often end up punching wide if they don't keep the range long

Oh ok. That sounds very controlling and somewhat like a dictatorship. But whatever, pro boxing is corrupt legally.....

I saw a post fight online interview afterwards where he said he'd been hit harder. Could just be sour grapes though. Rubio didnt exactly show a great a desire to get up after the knockdown anyway.
I could believe that....since he went over easy from a shot that didn't even connect fully.

Truth is Rubio is fine biffing fringe foes about, but he doesn't perform on the big stage and basically wilted when faced with the prospect of Golovkin really thumping him. The pain hadn't even begun for Rubio, but he spied a chance to go over and pick up a cheque without getting really punished. He bottled it.

He can go back to beating fringe fighters now I suppose but hopefully this is the last we see of him against the top boys.

Language barrier blatently, and despite all that I still think he comes across better than most, always seems very respectful in the interviews I have seen.

Classy guy and fantastic fighter

Exactly, give the guy a fvcking break, he could barely string 2 words together 12 months ago. His English has come on considerably, credit to him for doing his best to improve his marketability.

I agree and he knows more Spanish than me too; he is intelligent and articulate and if he rolls over the next 5 or 6 in the same fashion he'll be a major star and get paid big, big money.
