I read last week that Sol Cambell has put his house up for sale for £25 mill (just a few weeks after he was moaning about the rate of tax in this country).

I don't know what other assets he has but I imagine that only Lennox would have earned that kind of dough.

Why does there seem to be this feeling that boxers on the world class level particularily world champions should be set up for life once they retire? Dont get me wrong- I don't begrudge the ones that are and boxing is a bloody tough sport but there seems to be this concensus sometimes that that once they should retire it's almost automatic that they should never have to work again. Obviously in reality that isnt the case a lot of the time anyway but yeah I just wondered.

If somebody makes a living from doing what is essentially a hobby they're doing very well for themselves.

i don't understand how sportsmen blow their money.

do the simple thing get a house pay the mortgage off etc. etc.

Don't go and invest in stupid stocks and shares that can go up and down, or investments.

regarding careers in security there is not much in that either c.p and especially door work.

And then there's henry maske, minted, and owns loads of mcdonalds franchises in germany.

Also are boxers allowed to bet on themselves to win in a fight?

Aye, its a big ask for a young guy who grew up hand to mouth on a council estate with sod all education, to be financially responsible whilst having a job where they are repeatedly punched in the face.

If you took all the money in the world and shared it out equally amongst everyone, within 12 months the people who were billionaires before, would be billionaires again and the people who had 30 grands worth of credit card debt would be right back to being in massive debt.

I thought Matthew Ellis was a good fighter, just a tad too small for today's super sized heavies, he would have made a great 'super cruiserweight' if you like.
