It was technically a separation anyway, as it was caused by an injury to the muscles connecting the shoulder to the arm, not the bone coming out of its socket.

 he was leaning on it. "Hey ref, my shoulder is out"... while his bodyweight is being supported by his shoulder:

That's a still of him rolling back and forth right after falling.

Nice try though, his shoulder isn't supporting a damn thing, he was rolling around.

As for the topic: so what if Kovalev does ruin Hopkins.
He's almost 50 years old, sooner or later somebody is going to destroy him and the fact that he'll be 50 in January means sooner is long gone, later is here.
Hopkins prime was the late 90's ffs.

BHOP is nearly 50, so BFD if he loses to a bigger man whose in his athletic prime. He can use the 'got old overnight' excuse for any future fight at this point. Kovalev isn't going to be winning world titles at that age or even at a decade younger for that matter. He'd better win for the sake of his own generation, as Hopkins is about 2 generations his senior in boxing terms and it reflects badly on the state of the sport to have an old man beating guys who are supposed to be the future.

Agree 100% on that.

He's roughly 15 years past the point where the next generation of boxers should have made him irrelevant.

Here are some odds. If you're unaware, the numbers on the right of the / are the amounts you need to bet to win the numbers on the left.

Again, Much obliged. Rekon'd that goggling "boxing odds" would yield about as many useful results as googling "free porn"...
Nice to have a legit "go to" site.
Cheers!

Im absolutely rubbish with odds .... is that one set of odds for Hopkins to win at 21/10 ... is that equivalent to 11/1?

I wont make a prediction on this fight, but will say Hopkins will do more than people expect, and that he will surprise everyone despite being 50+ years old against a young man all in his prime.
Was Pavlik a power-puncher at LHW, the division in which he fought Hopkins? Check out his resume above middleweight, where in his last four bouts he was twice taken the distance by mediocre fighters and couldn't drop clubfighter Scott Sigmon despite pounding him for 7 rounds.

As for the last sentence, I've seen loads of people pick Hopkins (he was the favorite in a recent ESPN media poll of 20+) and there seems to be a fairly large 'never bet against BHOP' and 'I've learned my lesson' crew, so I'm not sure that he'll surprise everyone even if he wins. I think a precondition for Hopkins' reputation as an upsetter is unimpressive performances prior to the upsets, which thereby lower expectations and help vault him into the underdog role, and people seem to remember those performances less than his brighter moments.

I have two predictions.

1 ) Kovalev beat the crap out of Hopkins who will either find a way out or be taken out by punches.

2 ) Those picking Hopkins to win in the poll and here will quickly call him old if he losses.

And will you acknowledge that you were wrong if Hopkins does find a way of outpointing Kovalev?

Well you are right we will all call him old.Do you know why? He is freaking old.The guy is 50 years old
and 20 plus years past his prime.Yet he still beats top fighters.
It is not an insult to call him old.It is what it is.

By, the way, Kovalev's purse for such a huge bout is laughable -- $500,000. Any ideas what Hopkins is getting ?

Nope but it's almost certainly way more than what Kovalev is getting. Hopkins is the A side in this fight.

no it's equivalent to 2.1/1

so basically bet $100 to win $210
