I dont think Froch would be big enough for 175. He's got the height to do it obviously but he's always said that he only walked around at 6 pounds or something over super-middle when he wasnt in training for a fight so i think he'd be at a disadvantage. Anyway, i think it's a bit late for him now. He's only got a couple of fights left in him now.
Obviously he knows his body better than me, but looking at him I find it hard to believe he'd be undersized at 175.
I always thought the same, but was informed by people who had worked with Froch, that he walked around very close indeed to his fighting weight.

He looks huge in real life, but I guess maybe he isn't very heavy boned. I'm no athlete, but I'm certainly not carrying much spare weight, and I'm 13 stone 7, and Froch looked much bigger all around than me except for height.

Without meaning for this to sound insulting- how much muscle are you carrying versus body fat though? The reason I ask is Carl doesnt look like he has an ounce of fat on him really so the weight he does carry is mostly muscle aside from the obvious water, bones, organs, etc. It can make someone look deceptively bigger than they are.

JCCJ who is sued by TR just signed with Haymon. Arum's reaction:
"We want the court to declare that we have one more fight with [Chavez]," Arum told Yahoo Sports. "In other words, we're in court as it is now. Now we're going to bring action against Haymon and so forth for interfering with our contract."

It looks like Chavez won't fight any time soon, so Froch may need to look at other options unless he decides to retire.

Why doesn't he fight Anthony Dirrell at like MSG or Barclays? Dirrell said he wanted to fight him in the US to avenge his brothers loss and Froch has said he wants a pay day in the US. Since Chavez Jr is now a Haymon fighter, that fight is basically gone since we all know Haymon won't allow him to step in the ring against someone with a pulse.
Why isn't this fight considered. Plus it would be a unification too.

Would a Direll fight pay even 20% of what a Chavez fight would?

There is your answer!

Yeah but a Chavez fight is not going to happen now. What other options are there really?

it'll never happen, 1 b/c of his age, 2 he doesn't need the fight but I'd to see him rematch Dirrell. I thought he lost the first time, and Froch has been given a chance to avenge his loss so i'd to see him do the same. I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Degale and trying his luck against Ward again before he retires.

I have no interest in a Froch/Chavez fight.......Chavez has 2 close fights against Vera since moving up in weight, that tells us where he's at in the division.

It will never happen- 1 because of his age? Ay, you've lost me there.

Kovalev vs froch has war written all over it. If Kovalev destroys Bhopal this could be bug ppv in the US as well as uk and mainland Europe.

I'm thinking that anything other than Chavez in Vegas and Froch isn't interested.
If he doesn't get that fight, he retires IMO.

Froch has stated that he isn't getting younger and want money fights.......the dirrell fight is not a money fight therefore it will not happen. The 1st fight was very close and I would like to see them go at it again.

Kovalev is too big for Froch. That fight wouldnt be good for Carl's health. Just like the Golovkin one wouldnt be.

True but Golovkin himself seems to have a very solid jaw aswell as hitting very hard and being clever with it. Kovalev hasnt got the best chin I dont think but he hits extremely hard for a light heavy so Froch wouldnt of felt that kind of power before I dont think. Obviously he's been in with Groves, Kessler and some others who hit hard at super middle but it's just not his natural weight class and I think he would really notice the difference in power. I remember watching Kovalev sparring Guillermo Jones who is a huge cruiserweight and even Guillermo whilst never hurt or anything as such- seemed to acknowledge the power behind them.

At this stage of his career I think Froch has only one option Chavez, don't think he could live with either Ward or Golovkin.

The only people who want to see the Chavez fight are Froch fans, and their interest only came after he expressed an interest in the fight. They want to see him have a gimme as opposed to a genuinely competitive, challenging fight.

My point is purely that I think it would be a great competitive fight, I agree he has not fought anyone of froch caliber. It would be a great fight, I'm convinced of it.

I'm not sure it's good for either of their health, but I get your sentiment.

Chavez then get out. Leave Golovkin, Ward & Kovalov alone, had a great career retain your health.

I know, I find it quite staggering that people are so quick to write off Froch's chances, against men who have nothing like the big fight experience as Froch, and who are in no way yet proven to be elite level.

It seems that Carl himself feels that he is not in his prime and getting close to becoming shot, so he naturally wants an easier fight with a better paycheck.

Prime Froch vs Golovkin would be a long war with an unclear final, but now he would lose.
