That just goes to show you they are ripping people off,they can reduce your fees and still make a big profit from you.Take it your still going to buy the ppv tonight then,again they win.

For me it's not about the quality of fights on the bill, it's the whole business model of Sky.

BBC = License fee £145 per year
Other terrestrial = free but interrupted by ads

Sky Sports = £24.50/month = £294 per year
PLUS basic Sky subscription. PLUS interrupted by ads. PLUS £16.95 to watch a boxing event.

This is why the emergence of B0x Nat10n and BT Sport is good for the sports fan

And regarding the last UK PPV event (Froch Groves 2, which I attended), the undercard wasn't better than tonight. Joshua, McDonnell, Mitchell and DeGale all fighting on that bill, plus a couple of floaters.

Tell you what, if the next event for PPV is Campbell v Coyle, that is me done with Sky Sports boxing. I'm very close to cancelling sky sports right now. Just taking us for idiots.

I'm on Virgin Media, so the PPV won't even be in HD for us guys!

I feel the same as everyone else here in that I love boxing and I don't want to miss the fights tonight, god knows I've watched enough of all the fighters on the bill before, mostly in fights that I hardly remember!

I can see that the DeGale fight might be interesting, Joshua will be 1 round, Smith faces a banana skin and Clev-Bellew will be semi decent but its just total and utter tripe for PPV. As I've said before, I don't hold anything to the fighters, not their fault.

Can I afford the money? Yes. Will I be buying? NO!

Will I have watched anything from the bill that warrants it by Mon-Tues evening? Yes. Will I be drunk and not give two titty tassels about the card by this evening? YES!

If the buy figures are considered decent for this the floodgates will open. Guaranteed.

I was definately not buying under any circumstances & was planning an evening with the radio while the missus watches her shit. Anyway last night someone rang up & said did we want to watch it at theirs so looks like I will be up there armed with some cans!

I can't see Campbell v Coyle being PPV. Surely there can't be sufficient public interest. Its not even a grudge match..... and personally I find Campbell about as exciting to watch as paint drying.

Who is going to buy that outside of Hull? (about the most deprived place in the UK). Good luck with that.

Depending on whether or not Khan/Brook can be made, I imagine the next PPV will be something like Joshua v Fury next summer (with a "stacked undercard").

The fights are better than most people are giving them credit for, degale, Quigg, smith, and Mcdonal are in pretty tough fights !

Smith - 1/9 - 1/25
Quigg - 1/14 - 1/25
McDonnell - 1/8 - 1/16

The fact that they're considered tough fights shows how bad this show is and the way Eddie and Sky have managed to convince people that a 90/10 match up is a test.

How he tries to convince. His smiley face telling me about stacked cards doesnt make me believe that its anything other than an uncompetitive undercard.

Most people except a small hardcore actually don't care about the fights being competitive they just get drawn in by the names, the names get mentioned there interested and that's all they need to know. To me the show next weekend is a lot better than this tonight but wont be as popular because it hasn't got the might of sky advertising it to fornicate everywhere reeling off name after name. Hearn thinks hes the best thing to happen to boxing since the dawn of the sport, but every card i see is failing in the decent 50/50 match ups.

I was fairly open to the fact that i would crumble. Im not over bothered about most of the fights but i love watching a potential super star in the making and have bought it purely for callum smith. It should be comfortable but it is definitely a step up. What can i say......

Not sure about that. Regardless of whether they are hardcore or not they wont keep forking out for 1 sided shite. Surely there comes a time for them too when they say enough is enough.

I can't be added to be honest, the Clev v Bellew will be good but the undercard won't be full of surprises and I won't get away with 4 hours tonight and Manny in the morning, it'll cause ructions.

It's been a struggle today deciding, but final decision is I'll be listening on Five Live. It was a tough decision and I can't deny I really want to see some of the fights tonight. But if there's any (tiny) hope that this kind of thing doesn't become the regular service then I just can't cave in and purchase the card.

An hour to go...luckily there's Man Utd vs Arsenal in the football & Wales vs New Zealand in the rugby to watch soon. Those, plus the thought of watching the Pacquiao card tomorrow morning, will keep me from purchasing at the last minute.
