If I recall correctly he's also a poor judge.

Howard is quite good, Terry has made some legendary blunders. IJS once came up with a literally impossible score in a PF fight, I can't remember which one.

Was this before he staggered back to his corner?

You can see him put his hands up yourself, which comes shortly after he got up almost immediately from the KD. He didn't seem to be staggering back to his corner to me, and I think he only seemed clearly unsteady when he was getting up and Foster had his hand on him. Boxing is a rough sport and I don't think fights should be called off simply because someone's legs weren't steady. In fact, in Periban's last bout prior to fighting Degale he had his opponent down and seemingly in much more trouble, yet the opponent got up, recovered, and eventually won. Periban not only didn't get that chance, he didn't even get a chance to beat a count.

The point is, if that he'd been DeGale he would have been allowed to continue. I don't think there's much argument there.

Btw I think Howard is a good ref usually.

Froch did not look out of it at all - that's utter cobblers. His eyes were clear, and his legs were steady, if you watch the KD, as soon as his back hits the canvas, he begins getting up.

I agree with Khan, that was ludicrously biased - Khan was given every conceivable chance, despite the fact he was completely out on his feet. Similarly, Barrera was well and truly shafted, despite the fact that his cut hadn't worsened at all, it was suddenly deemed after four rounds he couldn't continue - a cynic might conclude, that this was in no small part due to the fact that due that 4 rounds had to be completed before it could go to the score cards.

Howard Foster is still good quality in my book, IJL is questionable but TO'C is farcical!!

Im sure Victor Loughlin's had a few bad days at the office but i cant remember any off the top of my head

That's quite possible under the ten point must system because the winner of a round always gets ten points (subject to point deductions by the referee). So if you suffer a flash knockdown but spend the remainder of the round using the opponent's head as a speedball you can still win the round 10-9 (or draw the round 10-10) despite having been knocked down once.

How many of us would be happy to see Terry and Howard referee the Fury and Eubank fights this weekend?

I'm still reeling from that one. There isn't another ref on the planet (actually scrap that, person on the planet) who would've stopped that fight then but he let the reputations of both fighters get in his head. I'd be a lot more bitter about it if Enzo hadn't been able to avenge it though!

Yes IJL ..dear oh dear, he's made some right clangers and under his watch Briggs ended up in intensive care. He doesn't seem the sharpest tool in the box either.
