A good card on paper does not mean a good nights boxing.
Tyson Fury is a very good heavyweight when he sticks to a plan
Del Boy is a gate keeper and there was something wrong with him last night (we'll find out soon)
BJS and Eubank was a very good fight and could even be better next time
Mitchell Smith is a hype job and stunk the place out and I hope i never see him box on PRIME TIME TV AGAIN
Buglioni is exciting but will get KO'd again when steps up in level as he was in trouble against a middleweight last night
Skeete is a negative fighter and Frankie is no world beater like in the amatuers
Liam Walsh was impressive and should kick on now.
overall very dissapointing nights boxing but it was a top class card on paper
Cannot disagree with any of that.
RE: Gavin, for such a hugely hyped fighter over the years, even called the brightest prospect we have ever had at some times,in reality just a so so fighter and I am confused how a guy 5ft 10 can look soft at 147lb. Bizarre. Must have an exceptionally low LBM
I've sent him a tweet to see if he wants some help with the nutrition and food side as i own a healthy food place that looks after the nutrition of a few boxers. Hopefully he gets in touch, i reckon i could have him down at 140lb no problem.

I learned that even solid and committed fans of boxing can be as susceptible as the man in the street to hype and overblown statements.
I also learned that fame must be very difficult to deal with and to leave behind; I didn't get the impression that Eubank Snr was there to support and aid his son; I think he put his need for acclaim and attention over his son's need for corner guidance - quite pathetic really, can you imagine Wally Swift Snr behaving in such a manner in his son's corner?
I also learned that though I enjoy watching the sport 5 hours of distance fights is beyond me now; I do like my kip.

I agree with the above comments, the corner work by Ronnie Davies was terrible and he is a terrible trainer. Let's face it, chris eubank sr used to train himself, a lot of people are slating eubank sr but I anything the advice was coming from him not Ronnie davies. Having said that, whoever said that was a very good Saunders was terribly wrong and no one has pushed him closer, John Ryder deserved to win and blackwell pushed him very close. That was one of the worst Saunders I have seen, maybe he over trained, but I think it was more of the amount of pressure that he put on himself like "I'll retire if I lose" and "the gypsy community are putting a lot of money down" which to be fair is expected. Also Saunders lack of strength and stamina was worrying, this is why when he steps up to a world title he will get best. Saunders has good skill and great grit but doesn't he power strength or stamina, all them times after fights where he would bloat up 30-40 pounds north of his fightig weight, drinking beer etc has caught up with him. When are fighters gonna realise that just because some fighters can do it, not every fight can, for every one fighter that can get away with partying, drugs, alcohol or food binging there are a 1000 fighters who can't. Eubank jr clearly lives the life and looks athletic however his technique is non existent, his balance was terrible, and if he didn't maul Saunders by wrestling him and wearing him down then it would of been a complete dominance. Either way how it was a split decision I do not know, Saunders won quite clearly.

What I learned is that the Excel is not fit for boxing. I had floor seats and the view was absolute shite. There was a steward completely blocking my view of the ring so I basically spent the night watching the big screen.
At the start of the event there were no accessible toilets as you needed a pass out to get to the toilets. But to get out you had to go through the same gate as those who were coming in. It was a complete bottleneck shambles. People were either pissing in cups or some were just pissing against the wall in the drinking area ! Everyone was smoking, it was like a return to the 80s with a film of smoke in the air. Transports links rubbish too. All in all a major disappointment. Why choose this venue in the first place ? Can't think of one thing it's got going for it compared to other venues in London

Neither BJS or Eubank jr are world class
Eubanks jr is clumsy and fairly rudimentary but like senior he is a genetic freak in terms of strength
I think junior will win if there's a rematch
Tyson Fury has improved a lot since 2011
Del is finished at top level and will become a gatekeeper, will probably get fed up to Joshua next year. Hopefully he will quit for his own good
Frankie Gavin isnt world class, and Skeete is very effective if boring

Won't comment on everything because I was tucked up in bed and listening to Talk Sport rather than seeing it.
But the general impression/feedback I got through Collins-Woodhall (two good guides) was......
Fury was very effective but unexciting and also risk-averse; some criticism as to why he did not kick-on with Chisora clearly there to be taken. Getting some rounds-in and boxing to a plan...... viewed as the most likely reason.
Chisora not right due to a bug or an injury and took the type of prolonged, one-sided pounding that spells the beginning of the end. Stevie C wanted it ended sooner; could not see the sense of Del Boy being hit and not being able to hit back.
Not much praise for either Gavin or Skeete. Gavin effective in parts but not nearly enough work, moments of poor concentration and doubts about how far he can go fighting like this. Skeete; awkward, nice jab and good skills but simply failed to carry the fight to Gavin in a meaningful way and a poor attempt at trying to rip the titles away.
Saunders. Sharp and truly world class for the first five rounds, held his own physically in the middle rounds when Eubank tried to respond, but bothered in the last third of the fight. Concerns about stamina and overall power again.
Eubank Jr. Too much posing early on and also given a boxing lesson. But kicked-on later in the fight, showing good power, attitude and strength although the underlying view was that the fight had come too early for him.

Eubank jnr would've benefited from more amateur fights, I would've benefited from not starting drinking so early !
