For swearing, I'll stick with Stephen Fry, far more educated than you or I.
“Swearing is a really important part of one’s life. It would be impossible to imagine going through life without swearing, and without enjoying swearing. There used to be mad, silly, prissy people who used to say swearing was a sign of a poor vocabulary. It is such utter nonsense. The people I know who swear the most tend to have the widest vocabularies, and the kind of person who says swearing is a sign of a poor vocabulary usually have a poor vocabulary themselves. The sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a lack of education or a lack of verbal interest is just a effing lunatic. I haven’t met anybody who’s truly shocked at swearing… really. They’re only shocked on behalf of other people. Well, you know, that’s preposterous. Or they say, “It’s not necessary,” as if that should stop one doing it. It’s not necessary to have coloured socks, it’s not necessary for this cushion to be here, but is anyone going to write in and say, “I was shocked to see that cushion there, it really wasn’t necessary”? No. Things not being necessary is what makes life interesting. The little extras in life.”

Oooooooh he knows Stephen fry! He must be more of an intellectual than his posts and illiterate spelling suggest! Stick to topic mate no trolling.
I can concede at best 7-5 ......7-5 to 9-3 it's not that huge a difference 2 rounds either way.I stand by my view and its just a view.obviously it's hugely in the minority but how many of u were arseholed on cheap cider Saturday night?

That was quite a cool move from Eubank; I really liked the blatant grab and throw the uppercut he unveiled on Saturday as well. I was hoping he'd uppercut himself in homage to Tyson Fury.

That was about half the shots he landed!

Eubank won the fight I think. And he would have clearly won it or even stopped Saunders if he'd got going earlier. Did nothing for the first 5 rounds and then turned up the heat. I had him sweeping the last 6 and nicking one of the first 6, and I was being generous to Saunders.

I think you're being generous to Eubank there, not Saunders, for all the pressure and wild swings, he didn't land many clean punches and found himself hitting thin air for most of the fight.

It's what you like as a scorer I think. Eubank looked the boss to me in the second half. I take that into account when im scoring. Saunders was on the backfoot and Eubank was forcing the fight his own way. Saunders was returning fire but was spending too much time weaving and holding for my taste. Should have been warned for the spoiling. Some people use the "Who would you rather have been in that round" method to score rounds and I think I use that to an extent but I also try to just take an unbiased view of who was in "control" of the round so to speak and I felt that Eubank was the one who had the upper hand for the second half of the fight. Saunders was trying to "nick" rounds with good boxing skills while Eubank was trying to take rounds with pressure and power punches and I suppose it comes down to what you like best. I was also very impressed with Eubanks movement on the way in and how he was coming forward like a train but was able to evade shots as he was doing it. I gave Eubank one of the first 6 with a share of a round also and then all of rounds 6-12. I can see Saunders getting the decision though as it is subjective. That's why we have three judges I suppose.

Eubank won the fight 7-5. Would be interested if people watched the fight again to see if they scored it differently.
Funny how no one has mentioned how the referee saved Billy in the 12th round.

Saunders won the fight by two or three. Some here are giving Eubank far too much credit for wild swings where he missed. If you miss, you don't score, no matter how 'hard' you look.
Great fight though, and at 25, they can both move forward with their career.

Eubank was consistently scoring on the inside with body shots and uppercuts throughout the second half of the fight. His work was probably less ragged in that period of the fight than Saunders' was.
CheckHook wrote:Its hard enough finding 5 rounds to give to Eubank, let alone 9.... BJS won that fight any way you slice it.
On the contrary, it was very easy to give him rounds 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 & 12.

I had it quite close but there was only one winner in my eyes. I don't think I've seen read or heard anyone make case for Eubanks winning mugabi my old nemesis

I'm good thanks. I was impressed with young Chris but too many even rounds & he waited too long.i didn't think bj won the first six at all. In the first round Billy's body & face got red from jnr's punches. I had bj by two rds as his efforts were greater.

I had Eubank jr by one round, close fight, but the allegedly crew were totally biased, as they usually are towards the home fighters and the ref was a joke, in the early rounds he kept breaking them up early, so Eubank jr could not work inside, but in the later rounds he did the reverse and allowed Billie Joe to hold longer, when Eubank jr was trying to knock him out, plus a few times he gave Billie Joe more time to recover when he was hurt, 3 main things cost Eubank jr, the slow start, his corner and the ref, otherwise I think he would have won clearly, on points or stoppage.

I thought Eubank's work was mostly crap, many of the shots were half blocked, many more missed. He did get through with some decent uppercuts, especially in the last 3 rounds as Saunders tired a bit.
I don't really rate either of them, Eubank might look the part, but I'm not convinced he can go on to do that much - his dad had a long amateur career to draw on, Jr doesn't, and he looked as raw as sushi at times in there.
I figure they will try and cash in on his name, certainly I think Eubank Sr will know whether this son has it or not, and won't want to see him getting beaten up for a living if he hasn't got what it takes.
Saunders doesn't look to me like he can go much further either, he doesn't have much pop, and isn't exactly super slick, nor a volume puncher - he's just not that outstanding in any area of his game - decent fighter, but he'd have to have a really easy route to a world title, and would never be more than a paper champ.
Eubank might improve enough on what he has to do something, but hard to envisage him ever getting good enough to be contesting for a world title. British title, perhaps somewhere along the way, we'll see, but he's a long long way from a well schooled fighter.

Since when did the colour of your face affect scoring? some fighters mark up easier than others, should that affect the scoring?

Why do people think if Eubank started working more from the beginning he would have won, how can you know he wouldn't of got tired by 8th? BJS was just too sharp for him in the first half of the fight, Eubank only got into the fight because BJS got tired and his reflexes went not because Eubank did much different.
Agree with James that neither will go on to be a real world champion, unless BJS can take some more weight off and fight at LMW.

Especially if you're judging it on redness and one fighters face isn't going to go red no matter how many times he gets hit.
