even if khan beats alexander, floyd will tell him to fight brook and bring a belt to the table for their fight, at which point he will get beat by an accurate puncher in brook.

Khan's chin is poor but so is his ability to recover from a shot and be patient.

Sure he was 19-0 with 17 KOs going into the Khan bout, but the majority of those KOs came against novice no-hopers in Colombia.
Since he relocated to the U.S. and raising the level of opposition, Prescott is a very pedestrian 8-6 with only 3 stoppages.
If Khan had a chin, he had no business being blitzed by Prescott.

As I said it's bit harsh that's all. I figured the KO record would be picked apart but no matter, he believed in himself as a KO guy and had the confidence to back it up. Yes he should not have been wiped out like that he was too confident and walked straight onto the shots. As mentioned by others his ring IQ is/was poor. Seemingly better now though but time will tell.

Funny thing is, i think his Chin is one of the best. His defence is just abysmally shocking.

I don't believe that Khan has a weak chin, what he has is a weak defense. If any boxer stood flat footed, and a rival got free reign to hit them as hard as they could, they are going down. Khan's defense, and desire to engage, has got him into trouble. Him having a weak chin is nonsense. He got blasted by a lot of Maidana's shots and didn't go down...he was in trouble, but didn't go down.

I can see Khan winning a convincing points decision over Alexander, but would like him to challenge for a world title before taking on Floyd. Those saying that he doesn't deserve a shot, who else other than Pacquiao would we really like to see against him. Floyd can make fights pretty boring these days, and it is clear to see that his abilities are waning slightly. I think Khan could really push him.

Khan's chin is one of the best? Dear god, that's total nonsense. He got buzzed by a jab from Prescott before getting flattened. As pointed out earlier in the thread, he's also been dropped multiple times by light-hitting opponents. The sheer panic that visibly goes through his ringside entourage & cornermen everytime he gets hit by even a single shot should give you a clue that his chin is not strong.

I had to laugh at what Guerrero said a while back when he suggested Khan chew more bubble gum to strengthen his jaw more.

Totally agree, he is as thick as pigshite in the ring, and that more than anything is his downfall, - he's got good powers of recovery, despite being chinny, but the minute he gets tagged, he has no idea what to do, other than start swinging for the rafters.

Tell you what; he may not have a great chin but he has a right set of balls. I've seen fighters more highly thought of than Khan who haven't got his gung ho bottle. I like his fighting style, it entertains and though he's no massive hitter he goes for a KO win. Imagine the nerve that takes.

Its easy to see why Khan is so popular with the networks,he's one of the bravest in the game today, loves to go to town when he gets buzzed, which is his downfall,he's a bit of an eccentric,he can look amazing at times the shockingly average other times,he's great value for money though

I'll be watching his fight card as opposed to the other 1 at same time,Amir is even capable of making a Devon Alexander fight fun

Agree 100% with the above. Although my earlier post about his lack of chin might seem a bit negative, I'm a huge fan of Khan. He's one of the most consistently entertaining fighters around, I absolutely love watching his fights.

There's not many rounds i score against Khan when he's not been decked or staggered, when he's in control of his faculties, theres not many people who outbox him

Hopefully we'll keep seeing progression from his time with Virgil,he looked great against Collazo, its hard to tell whether he's making strides or Luis is well past it,bit of both probably

Anyone who says that Khan is good fundamentally obviously don't know what they're watching. Khan has fast hands and leaves guys like a dear in the headlights, but he often jump straight back and often leaves his chin straight up in the air while throwing combinations. Khan is a very physically gifted fighter, but he's no where near a true technician, not even close lol.

As far as Khan's chin. That chin is suspect and he's been tagged and dropped by some not so big punchers. His defense is a major concern as well, which doesn't go well with bad punch resistance. Don't get me wrong, some of the shots that Khan has gotten hit by would buzz anyone, but that chin is still suspect and his recuperative powers aren't very good either.. Plus Khan has no idea how to survive after being buzzed. Khan still beats and troubles just about anyone at 147, but it's inevitable that his chin will get tested again and there's a good chance it will probably fail him again.

If the light hitting Collazo made Khan's legs turn to jelly and put him into trouble, Alexander, similar in power but with more skills will finish him if he gets in that situation.

Even if he had a chin, he would still get beaten by A and B level competition. He lacks defense.

Collazo didn't wobble Khan once and was beat out of sight. After the job Luis did on Ortiz there were many writing Khan off completely. I think Khan stops Devon and does it in some style.
