I think the ref will stop it. It's going to be horrible to watch, just a fat passed it american leaning on the ropes getting tee'd up all night.
But he'll give AJ rounds......

i dont understand how he can be a bad fight for a 10fight novice, it wasnt that long ago he was in with Fury and was in with Chisora and Charr this year, these guys have fought for world titles AJ has had 10 fights and a very shot amateur career

I agree. it is an excellent matchup for Joshua. He's only been pro about a year and both he and Parker are on the fast track.

I don't see how you can call it a "great matchup" when one guy has a 99% chance of winning.

Not a great match-up, since Johnson has lost 4 out of his last 5 fights. He has fought decent competition, but no one great. His experience will carry him for a while, but won't be shocked if Joshua KOs him. Hope he is in decent shape.

Aj vs Johnson great
Wladimir vs piled - joke

That's why boxing is amazing, fans are so gullible

I can see a stoppage because KJ does nothing. AJ is not a huge Puncher like Price or wilder and Needs several punches to take an Opponent down but at his size those punches hurt and he throws a large volume of them.

I can see KJ doing nothing and then having enough after a couple rounds.

wlad is rightfully being Held to another Standard because he is the undisputed champ while AJ is a 25 yo guy that is still in the build up.

you expect more out of a dominant Division champ and top10 p4p guy than of a rising prospect. Pulev and povetkin where very good opponents and only haters would complain about them but guys like leapai or pianeta just were a plain joke no matter how you slice it.

leapai was a joke - universally agreed
however he was mandatory, wlad always fights them to keep his belts - no choice

pianeta was in theory a gimme , but no one else yet has beaten pianeta so we werent know how good he is

thompson got his props after price and solis wins despite losing to Wlad

Yes Johnson is durable, but AJ hits HARD.

He survived 12 rounds with Vitali, but it was one of the worst fights I have ever watched, and Kiltschko was certainly not at his best. If he sits on the ropes and throws nothing, the fight deserves to be stopped. Johnson goes into the ring to survive, and pick up his paycheck.

I think AJ within 6 rounds.

It's a great learning fight, Joshua needs rounds, Johnson will give him them. It's not a great matchup in the sense that it will be much of a spectacle, but it's excellent matchmaking.

I admit not following Johnson's career closely, but according to him this fight is one he has had proper time to prepare for, rather than having to take it on short notice like some of his other recent fights. Maybe its just him talking to give himself confidence? He did offer Joshua to bet 75% of his purse if Joshua can KO him within 5 rounds, or something like half if he can KO him at all. The guy is entertaining if nothing else.

My words were an excellent matchup, not a great matchup. Joshua-Johnson isn't Ali-Frazier, or Lewis-Holyfield, but it is like Ali-Archie Moore or Lewis-Ossie Ocassio.

In other words it's an excellent step up match. Of course, it's designed to give Joshua both a victory and an excellent experience against an experienced opponent.

I'm not sure I would even consider it a "step up".

KJ may last longer because he fights very defensively but he's really not any better than Joshua's last few opponents.

Johnson is past his best. In his prime he had a nice jab, could counter and took a solid punch.

I hope this one goes a few rounds so we can see if Joshua needs more work. I won't rule out Johnson having his share of moments in a loss.

If Johnson comes in shape, if AJ doesn't blow him out and stamina comes into question.....and KJ tries to win?

Hmmmmm a lot of ifs..... :D

I think it will be a referee stoppage, Johnson is a negative fighter, and Joshua, though not proven, definitely has a very mean streak.

It could be a boring 12 round plod, but I suspect, that at some point, Joshua manages to land the big right, follows up with a few unanswered shots, and the ref sees enough to step in.

I think in terms of development for Joshua it's a good matchup, stopping shot fighters in a round does nothing, going the distance or at least 8/9/10 rounds against a guy like Johnson will teach him more than fifteen first or second round blowouts.

I'm quite excited about Joshua, I've yet to be convinced about his power and he hasn't been properly tested yet but he looks decent so far.

Breaking it down. Joshua is younger, fresher, taller and determined to make a statement. Johnson is experienced, durable and hard to catch clean. Is Johnson vulnerable yes Chisora has put down, but Joshua is a much taller and quicker fighter than Chisora is and is the better finisher as well.

So theortically Joshua could stop him. But it might take him around 6 to 8 rounds to do it.
