In hindsight, Porter was overhyped, strong, decent power, but he makes a lot of basic mistakes and anyone that can match him physically is capable of beating him. Blowing Malignaggi away caused many, myself included, to overrate him a bit.

Alexander is a level above Brook IMO, yes he lost to Porter, but he's beaten Witter, Urango, Kotelnik, Maidana, Matthyse, Bailey and Soto Karass. Of all the names on Brook's record, only Porter compares to that list of fighters.

If you look at those results they do look impressive but against Kotelnik, Maidana and Matthyse he was lucky to get those decisions, look at how Khan beat Kotelnik it puts that win into perspective especially. he bottled it when the going got tough against Bradley, at least when Brook was gassing against Jones he showed some heart and desire (yes its a different level of opponent but its still a valid point).

If Kell comes back as good as before I think he will be the no.1 WW after PBF and Pac this time next year, against Porter he didn't show much of his skills as Porter wanted to bully him but he was the one that got bullied, against a boxer he will show his timing and technique more, the only guy who would worry me is Thurman.

I like Brook but I don't think he is noticeably better than most of that pack. Hopefully he recovers fully from the stabbing and gets back in the mix.

Why do people think brook beats khan ? He's had one good win, I actually thought he lost that fight with porter , khans too fast for him boxes his head off imo, he loses to Bradley and Madiana also

if you think porter performed anything like a world champ your deluded mate, he boxed shockingly, that of coarse was none of Kell doing he done what he had to but there's far better Welters out there for Kell
You need to remove your touge from Kell's arse and watch the fights mate
I'm gutted he got injured nobody should mock his injuries.
You can watch Amir perform tonight then tell us how Kell will beat him up lol

didnt he win every round against Maidana whereas khan went life and death and took a split decision?

porter performed shockingly because he is a shocking boxer, all wide hooks etc.... similar to deontay wilder in that sense. He has raw power but as a boxer I did not rate him. personally I don't rate froch as a boxer either, but as a fighter he is a beast and I remain one of his biggest fans.

if, as an opponent, you box wise and keep away from the raw power (not easy for 12 rounds) then you have a chance.

Porter was 'a beast' going into that fight vs Brook, now he's a hype job.... Some people have an axe to grind and cant help themselves but to set up double standards and make extreme claims to try and discredit fighters they don't like. Its ironic that before the fight with Brook I was on here saying Porter was a bit overrated but still a legitimate world champion and a world class fighter, now I'm on here saying Porter is underrated but still a legitimate world class fighter. Yes, he's crude and not technically a great fighter, but he was a world class engine, solid chin and keeps busy over 12 rounds. He's a handful for most top tier welters out there. Brook is a legitimate threat at 147. Whether he will dominate the division is hard to say, but its probably unlikely. Its a deep division with lots of talent, both young and established. But one thing is certain, Brook is a world class fighter and in the mix. The only question mark over Brook right now is whether or not he is going to be the same fighter after that injury, but the talent and skill shouldn't be in question any more.

to be fair Porter was a hype job, granted Kell done well to beat him in a tight one but there's much better Welters out there
I agree that porter was overhyped a bit. Thing is, alexander vs khan is talked about like the winner deserves his shot vs mayweather. That to me points to the fact that alexander is viewed as top 10 material in a stacked division. Porter (deservedly ) beat alexander which put porter in that top 10 bracket. Brook beat porter and holds a title which puts brook in the top 10.

Brook is now up there in the elite section of this weightclass. I don't think he dominates the division but i don't think he gets outclassed either. I think all the top 10 guys, with mayweather the obvious exception, are capable of beating each other, brook included.

Must be thinking of someone else Devon won every round and made Marcos look like he had never been in a ring before. Marcos is much better under Robert Garcia though.

We'll see if Porter is a hype job after his next bout, he may deal with the loss well and improve; I thought the Broook fight could have gone either way but I've not watched it since that day and am pleased that an Ingle boxer won a major world title in a premium weight division. I hope his leg injury heals and Kell goes through a few good challengers in style. I think Khan would win if they were to box but I rate Khan and I think it'd be a really good bout, good for British boxing and set both up for life.

I don't know what I was thinking to be honest, I remember it clearly now today, it was Maidana's first fight at 147 but all credit to Deon for that win.

When was Khan's last win over a world class opponent? 3 years ago against a faded Judah? 4 years ago against Maidana I would say. Khan's fast but he's not a better boxer then Brook, after 4/5 rounds Kell would find his timing and knock him out.

Collazo was a very good scalp after the way Luis dealt with Ortiz; many thought that Khan was going to get beat up and knocked out. I'd venture that Collazo would be seen as a very good win for Brook. The truth of it is that both Kell and Khan have their strengths and weaknesses and that Khan has been at the high level for a long time and has only recently moved into the welter division whereas Kell is a big welter. I hope that a bout between the two comes off; Khan has been a dickhead in the past but in the ring he has plenty to admire.

but it's undeniable khan has achieved so much more in his career and IMO is a much better all round fighter, time will tell

It is undeniable, Billy. Khan has has a stellar career and it's not over yet. I've just put a tenner on him for tonight, more power to the british welters, it could all work out well for Khan and Brook (and Gavin may come good too).

IMO khan vs brook is a typical top welterweight matchup for khan. Khans chin dictates that he is always on the verge of being ko'd. Brook is a solid puncher but his real strength is his timing. I think alot of people think khan (as good a boxer as he is) is hittable and its just a matter of time before Brook gets him.

If it went to points then khan probably edges itas i don't see many (if any) fighters outboxing him. If brook gets to the point where he can time khan then brook wins by the classic khan ko. Its a great fight.

Khan says speed kills.

Brook says timing beats speed.

We'll get an idea after seeing how Bundu gets on tonight, if he's blown away then it'll show the gulf is too much for Frankie, if it's close or Bundu wins then it looks good.

The fact that he has money but STILL went to the Canary Islands & ended up on the flat of a Chav Nutter really raises serious questions about him.

He has a history of making shite decisions & I hope he has now grown out of them.

Back to topic, I like the bloke & hope he does well but I'll be shocked if he makes 2 successful defences.

Still outside the top echelon of the deepest division in boxing which is no insult given the depth of talent. Has a bonafide world title though and that should he respected and brings him to the top table with respect to his choices of who to fight next. Those choices will determine his intent and choosing stiff opponents will give him the opportunity to make a bigger name for himself and enhance his reputation further
