Well, I don't think people loved him for getting fat. Hatton was a massive Duran fan, and Duran was known for partying and blowing up between fights. So Hatton thought he could get away with it. He couldn't. Duran was a freak of nature. He didn't look after himself between fights, but still managed to be great. I don't know anybody else that could do that. Hatton certainly couldn't. Broner DEFINITELY can't. Ricky gets remembered for being knocked out by peak Mayweather and peak Pacman. He was a good fighter, and he'd have bashed Broner at LWW.
I think Hatton did get away to be fair, he was unbeaten until he faced Mayweather, boxed The great Pac-man cashed in at Vegas became multimillionaire probably before he even went there, so overall fantastic career for being a fat ass when not training!

It looks like he is significantly above 170, so he would probably need to lose around 40 lbs.

I don't especially like him either, but it doesn't behoove me in any way to see him fall. Too many people out there take pleasure in seeing others come unstuck, imo. What happens to Broner will happen.
For the record he always looked in very good shape - if a bit too ripped for his own good - I think he knows something about getting fit.

Hatton didn't constantly act like an insufferable jackass. There is nothing unfair about Broner being mocked more than Hatton for getting fat, if that's what you're implying. He earns all the hate he receives.

You're being a bit too harsh on Broner. I don't like his antics because I think they're corny. But I'm not about to talk shit about a very young guy from the hood making bad choices while young ... it's actually kinda normal.
But for some reason you think that a teen is going to be responsible, and you're willing to write off a 25 year old. Typical.
