easily khans best fight to date......he showed that when he fights to his strengths he can look top notch. but lets not get carried away, porter beat alexander much more convincingly. khan has put himself firmly in the top ten with this win, but there are a number of top fighters ahead of him in the line. he was in the same excellent position when he won his title from kotelnik , where he fought a clever fight without leaving his chin exposed. i still believe that when he gets pressured from a heavier hitter he will crumble again.
i cant see the mayweather fight happening as it looks as if it might be too much trouble for floyd. he doesnt look capable of stopping welters these days, and if khan fights textbook style and follows instructions he can use his range and speed advantages to get in front and stay there. we havent seen mayweather have to dig deep very often....is he still capable if the need arises? if khan is wise he should get on the phone to kell brook and start building up the gate for a domestic grudge which could net millions and avoid the need to brownose mayweather. mayweather keeps the lions share anyway, so it may well be that khan could make more by fighting brook. hopefully the pacman will burst mayweathers bubble in may and make it all irrelevant anyway

Khan beat Alexander more convincingly than Porter did.

Like Maidana?
Yes lol, Maidana has 77.5% ko ratio and he could not stop Khan, Khan has only been stooped twice 33 fights, not the record of a glassed chinned fighter, as some people on here call him, in fact he has fought 10 fighters who have held a world title, 11 if you count the WBU, believe me if Khan had a chin problem most of those world champions who he fought, would have stopped him, as Roger Mayweather said " Most people don't know shit about boxing "

I agree, his defence and his fighting instincts were a problem and his chin isnt like say Froch's but its not as bad as some people make out,a lot of so called fans (not so much on here, more CS) reckon if your not the best in your division and you've been KO'd then you shite, regardless if your still in the top 10 in your weight division,if you've been beat "your garbage" you think boxing fans would have more respect for the fighters, not everyone can be Sugar Ray,it doesnt mean your poo

PS Nobody is counting the WBU :OhYes:

I'm sure this has been covered a million times on here before but why do you think Khan seems to be disliked by so many in the UK?

Always comes across as a decent enough bloke in interviews to me and when i spent an evening in his company when he was training out of LA he was a perfect gentleman and good company and even invited me down to the Wild Card the next day to watch him spar

There is a little bit of arrogance about him but certainly no more than most

Seems like a shame that he doesn't have the support of the British public, we should be proud of him

Most people are scared witless of admitting they're racist. The rest don't even realise they are. That's the reason. Sam reason Carl Froch hasn't got a huge Asian following, for example.

I agree with you, can't see any other reason, every fighter has a bit of cockyness about them, it is called confidence, without it they don't have that edge, with Khan it is obvious what it is ?

There probably is an element of racism and also I think that Khan has been in the public eye for far longer than a 'normal' successful boxer. For 10 years he has been extremely well known and people are fickle, they want the rise and fall of a notable person and then to support the next one. Khan was an Olympic hero at 17 and a millionaire at 18, he's grown up in the public eye and made some mistakes, he's continued to be successful; maybe for some people he's been around too long?

Myth. Khan by that criteria should be loved then! Hardly all conquering and unbeatable is he!? Been beat 3 times, including a complete shellacking which left in dreamland.

Brits love a winner too. Most of all they love a personality. Bruno wasn't loved because he lost. It was down to his persona. Look at snooker. O'Sullivan is loved, Davis wasn't. Both winners. One exciting, the other boring.
Hatton was loved. Winner. Hoy and Redgrave loved. Redgrave purely because of his success and determination. Jonny Wilkinson, loved.

Islamaphobia. People are scared that Khan will behead them and then sacrifice a goat to celebrate.

Amazing what one weekend can do for career's, Khan's gone from being considered a non-worthy challenger to either Floyd or Manny without a world title to being probably only one of two sub 154 lbs guys that we'd actually like to see in with both and with a chance of causing the upset.

With Bradley struggling, Thurman aside there isn't anyone else really south of 154 I'd like in with Floyd or Manny (Garcia possibly).

That's definitely the viewpoint over here at the minute but what are the Americans and more importantly, the US tv stations saying?

Absolute rubbish. Sorry guys but I don't agree with that at all.

I like Khans fights, always have...whats not to like....exciting, all guns blazing, win or lose...always entertaining.

I DON'T like him as a person..but that's just me, he could be black, white, purple, orange...whatever....I just don't like the way he comes across.

Racism? get a grip ffs.

I like Carl Froch fights, but have never liked him, right from the off, as a person. I'm white and English.

I'm not sure that Brits like losers it just in the past that the best we had in whatever sport it was, weren't quite good enough at the top level most of the time, but we still got behind them anyway because we are Brits and that's what we do.

If you agree, then why do you think that Froch hasn't got an Asian following ?

I think many people cannot take it that he has had all fame and become a millionaire. Sad really. He has done a tremendous amount of work for charity as well.

He made mistakes whilst younger but suspect jealousy from rival fighters as they fought under cards and amir khan was headlining these when he was a Olympic Silver medalist.

Hardcore fans aside - according to my friend Atul, generally Asians prefer other sports over boxing, especially cricket.

When a successful Asian sportsmen like Naz or Amir comes through, then they naturally attract a large Asian following, they see an affinity.

A lot of these people will follow and watch Khan, but won't follow other boxers - because it's not their main sport.

Just like Candians follow ice hockey, or Spanish following football - it's all about the heritage, what their parents and grandparents watch.

Boxing is a British and Irish heritage sport practised and invented by white people.

Black post-war African Americans also heavily watch boxing, due to the best boxers of all time being black.

Mexico, another huge boxing nation - do they love ice hockey? Probably not !

Khan is like Pacquiao - thousands of Filipino men, women and kids support manny - do they follow boxing or know anything else beyond manny's opponents and his nemesis Floyd ? Probably not.

Khan's crossover appeal will encourage more young Asian lads to start boxing, just as him and others were inspired by Naseem Hamed.

The more people that are inspired and take up boxing, the better.

Is Amir a role model? He's started to look more the part in the last 12 months. Prior to that, definitely not.

It isn't a sportsmans responsibility to be a role model, would you class the likes of John Conteh, George Best and James Hunt as role models given what they got up to? Those people were celebrated for their free spirited ways and rightly so, yet nowadays a footballer or a boxer(or any other sportsman for that matter) has a threesome or snorts a line of coke all of a sudden its scandalous and immoral.

Khan is bland. Always has been. Got no charisma at all, which doesn't help when it comes to him being liked or not.

Don't bother me. It never does with fighters. It's an added bonus if they have a bit about them but at the end of the day it's in ring performances that matter.
