Yeah, did a bit of that myself. Never forget doing one out in Thorne somewhere for a mate and a load of non ravers turned up with cans of beer. One of the lads sold them all trips and pills and it was like the doors of perception got dropped on them. Was pretty funny. Last time I DJ'd on a trip though, too difficult.

I remember that book, there were quite a few Doncaster guys who you wanted to interview, Dean Wormald, David Jules and there is a real top journeyman from around there who's name escapes but - yep. That would have been a good book indeed.

I saw Dave Jules this morning, in fact I see him most mornings. If someone wanted to interview him for a chapter in a book he'd be thrilled. Dean Brahmald indeed - I knew I got them mixed up but my mind is playing tricks.

Slick Miller - he knocked some real good lads out. A mate of mine fought on the same card as him in Dublin and said he was a really funny guy who had everyone in stitches.

Alvin was really good mates with Carl Tilley, Carl used to train really hard, Alvin wasn't as keen.

My home town, Thorne. I'll be up on March 28th, work mate of mine is having a white collar type go in Thorne. I work in Suffolk, small world.

One of my best mates has just bought a boat, moored up there. The people seem nice enough and his local's ok. Thorne always had a bad rep, but I can't say I really spent much time there as a kid.

Boat Inn or Canal Tavern - Something uninventive like that - He lives on the permanent moorings. It's right next to the canal bridge and partially shadowed by the road bridge. Can't give you more of a description than that.

My dad lives in Thorne somewhere, but I've no idea where.

They have a good soul night at the Canal Tavern, the Boat Inn is in Sprotbrough, (pedantic twat that I am).

Yeah, I realised that after I wrote it. I go fairly regularly to the boat. I just knew the pub name had something to do with canals/boats.

Would that be Howden, which is out between Thorne and Goole? If so, and it was back in the 90s, it's quite possible I was on the door when those guys turned up

Journeymen are a nuisance and do more harm to the sport than good. Taking aside YOUR appreciation of their survival 'skills', Joe Public find watching predictable, one-sided fights boring. Who wants to watch fights when you know the outcome? Would you watch Chelsea vs Southend every week?

Nesbitt may deserved to win more than 10 fights, but for him to suggest he has deserved to win more than 100 of them is insulting. He gets paid excessive money (yes, I call £800 a pop for doing sweet FA excessive) on top of his regular day job. Not too shabby.

The sport needs competitive fights and promoters need to take more risks. Guys like Nesbitt are the problem, not the sport's long term solution. My name is Brian Moore.

Journeymen are needed in the sport - it would be damn hard to be a journeyman / short notice fights with prospects coming off a 6/8 week camp one of the hardest jobs out there

I don't know if you're just trolling Brian, but if not I'd suggest you have a limited understanding of how boxing works. There definitely are problems with how the sport is run and functions but to direct your indignation towards the journeymen themselves is just splashing around in the wrong puddle. If you want to know what's wrong with pretty much anything in the world, follow the money, that's my advice.
