He is nothing like Kovalev, entirely different style and it got somewhat exposed by Page.
Exposed? You have to be new to Beterbiev.

Beterbiev is very promising but I think some people are going overboard in light of the Cloud win.
It's clear to me that Artur fights to the level of his competition. Against Cloud, he was fired up from the opening bell, against Page he literally slept walked the first round. The KD woke him up and brought out the fire. He's been fighting guys like Usyk in the amateurs for years, he needs fights to get excited about. It's also clear that he can be outboxed, which was known from his amateur days, but he's dangerous every second with that power. With that said, he needs to keep fighting fringe guys for 2015 before being thrown in against Kovalev. LHW is full of fringe level competition, so they should keep him busy - no more bum fights(not calling Page a bum but for God sake they better not drop the competition level and waste his career.).

He's already a top 3-4 fighter in the division right now.

pretty funny when ur 6-0 and get dropped in the first(not a big KD either) then hammer the 15-0 fighter the very next rd and people say he got exposed!!!!

Aside from Andre Ward, Beterbiev probably stands the best chance against Kovalev.

Beterbiev faced Cloud in his 6th fight and Page in 7th.
Kovalev has 26 fight and he faced a guys who was 2-5 in fight 6 and in fight 7 faced a brand new one debutant. Beterbiev seems to be a great fighter and he will learn from tonight. Also I think he should change is coach has Ramsay look good with young inexperiment fighter but seems to be unable to get them on the next level. We 'll see how it goes but in 2 years when Kovalev comes out from Pascal and Stevenson, Beterbiev will look more than ready to jump in .

I've thought the same thing regarding Ramsay. I don't think he can add anything to Beterbiev's game that he doesn't already do. Funnily enough, Abel Sanchez was in Page's corner and he would be the perfect fit for maximizing Beterbiev's style. Abel would add better head movement and angles to maximize Artur's attack. Ramsay won't be doing any of that.

By exposed I mean in the eyes of the majoritys. Call for him to fight Kovalev now was premature. Let see how he develops in a year time. I personally dont think he will be a threat to Kovalev or Stevenson in a foreseeable future. His style is a limiting factor and unless I see him change it I am not jumping on any bandwagon.

By fighting opposition of this level, he will be "exposed" every fight just getting annoyed or upset and wanting to finish it quick. Yesterday, he just didn't care if Page would land something on him.

I like Beterbiev, but I'm not as quick to anoint the next star as some folks are. Cloud is a nice sounding scalp, but watching that I got the distinct sense he was out there collecting his check and soundly into the "paid opponent zone". The guy last night actually put in an effort and managed to drop Beterbiev. There's a lot of talented guys at light heavyweight I'd like to see him fight, but right now he's just another prospect.

I think he is ready to fight anybody except Kovalev and possibly Stevenson. The fact that he didn't show respect to Page doesn't mean that he can't fight more responsibly against better opposition.
Golovkin didn't show respect to Geale, but very few people now think that it was due to lack of skill.

Golovkin still didn't show a complete lack of positioning, range, timing or balance like Beterbiev did. I like The Ruaain destroyer but this wasn't just a lack of respect it seemed more like a lack of fundamentals. As if he had turned his boxing brain off and hoped Page would stop moving. In a small ring I'd fancy Beterbiev against anyone, in a real ring however there are guys out there that give him fits because they can move. Agnew would be make a great opponent for him for example.

Beterbiev didn't look that great, but he looked like a fighter who was ready to just walk through an opponent, regardless of defense and skills.
He will learn from this a lot I would suggest

He may be fighting Chilemba on Kovalev vs Pascal undercard:

Nice test.

Very nice test. I thought Main Events was keeping Chilemba as Kovalev-fodder, but I wonder if they thought Beterbiev looked vulnerable to someone with good boxing skills.
