My prediction on this fight. It will bring back memories of Dokes Weaver 1.
Wilder will throw several punches in the first 60 seconds of the round. The first
time Stiverne looks shaken the ref will stop the fight.

Yep. Just nowt sure that Stiverne can survive on the ropes and counter off the ropes like he did with Arreola. If he can, then Wilder might be in trouble. If Wilder hits harder than Arreola, then it will be Stiverne that may be in trouble. As a "casual fan" this fight greatly excites me. I'm anxious to see if Wilder is for real or another Seth Mitchell. I'm also interested in seeing how Stiverne handles Wilder's height and should he get the result, how Klitschko figures into the equation, if, at all...

Anybody wonder why there has been no promotion or press tour about this fight. Alhaymon doesnt not want stiverne name promoted. The fight is built as Wilder winning the WBC belt for USA. On all the TV commercials its WILDER.
Roc nation were winning the purse bids and naturally stiverns team wanted it but Goldenboy/Alhaymon would have got him stripped. Its sad how they wanted the WBC belt for free so badly.

I really hope this doesn't go to the judges.

The only good thing is that shoudl Wilder win, his options will a Voluntary, Mandatory vs Povetkin, Or Unification vs Wladimir
He will certainly take a voluntary. Lets hope the russians win purse bid should Povetkin get his shot.

People forget so quick. We just had Seth Mitchell. Before that was Michael Grant. And before that, Wlad suffered the same story. This will be a repeat of when then clueless Wlad went up against Brewster. Except Wilder won't ever regroup from this devastation.

this will be over quickly, maybe wilder will have a
little more respect than usually and stiverne sees
the ring girl holding no5.

i see this scenario. wilder TKO5. then he is headlines
ALL OVER america and in a year he challenges that
ukrainian. bad thing for the marketing people is that
they cannot portray wlad as the bad russian, and
deontay doesn't resemble sylvester stallone in every
physical detail. but there will be ways to quote rocky,
i guess. plus it will have racial undertones, not officially,
but still.

all in all, this fight would be spectacular and the greatest
thing since vitali-lennox. promotion wise as big as ali-frazier.

.
Lay off the crack-pipe.

If Wilder had been fighting in the 70's, 80's or 90's, he would have amassed at least a dozen TV spots before he ever got to 30-0-0 with 30 KO's. I know most of you will say, "Yeah, but he hasn't really fought anybody of worth." Yes, but in the decades before, even if some up-and-comer had earned a record of 15-0-0 with 15 KO's, TV networks would be working hard to get him some exposure on their networks, even if he was only beating up below average competition. I mean, come on, everyone was abuzz when Mike Tyson got to 10-0-0. Same with Riddick Bowe, Ray Mercer, Tommy Morrison, etc... Heck, even a Jeremy Williams and Danell Nicholson!

Now-a-days, a heavyweight can get a title shot and hardly anyone knows who he is, outside the fight fanatics. That is nuts!! Mainstream boxing has dropped off the face of the planet, at least here in the USA.
Not true. He hasn't beaten anyone. I don't remember Don Steele or Lamark Clarke getting TV slots either. Yory Boy Campas was like 60-0 with 50-something KOs . . no-one cared because he beat up a bunch of cab drivers, just like Wilder.

Duane Bobick got to 38-0 and only had 3 TV fights Sanford, Wepner, Bunny Johnson. And I don't believe the Sanford-Houpe fight was nationally televised.

Gerry Cooney had maybe 3-4 televised fights: Norton, Young, ST Gordon and Norton was on HBO.

everyone bashes wilders past opponents ....so , lets take a look at stivernes AMAZING career =

historical huge wins :

1. a washed up ray austin

2. a B+ level brawler , arreola

Notable trouble fights :

a draw with a 17-17 garbage truck driver

a tko loss to a 11 - 15 hairdresser

and..................THATS IT.

see my point ???

Good Points. Ray Austin only had to survive the final round to get the win, as he had thoroughly outboxed Stiverne...but he didn't. He was too old to get on his bike I guess.

The only thing that may appear fishy is to Stiverne fans that are afraid he will lose - so they will have the fight-fixed excuse. I will give whoever wins a lot of credit. Exciting fight.

Inside of 6 rounds Wilder is the favorite. Past 6 rounds Stiverne is the favorite. I'm still picking Wilder to stop him by round 6. A lot of people don't think Wilder has the stamina to go a full fight, but I think he is a better athlete, and in better shape than Stiverne is. We will find out fairly soon who has been hyped too much.

I still predict Stiverne will come into this fight at his all time high weight

Is it possible Stiverne will take the bonus because he's impossible to sell or promote, as an aging Haitian born Canadian with zero charisma and name recognition outside of hardcore boxing fans? YES

Is it possible Al Haymon will manipulate this fight like Malignaggi told us: "Al Haymon can manipulate anything what Al Haymon wants Al Haymon gets." YES

Is it possible Stiverne will take the $5 million bonus like Canelo did to go soft on Floyd? YES

Welcome to the Al Haymon Boxing Reality Show which as Floyd Mayweather told us about All Access is fake and staged.

We have seen this script before. Hyped bronze medal winner in a weak draw ( won second match 10-10 ) turns pro fighting trail horses and journeyman and somehow vaults his way into a title fight without beating a top 40 level opponent! Can you say manufactured and marketed? I know USA boxing is at a low tide, but I smell bottom shelf can of tuna here.

News flash to those keeping score. Wilder was down and rocked by limited opposition in the pro's and Ko'd in short amateur career. His stamina, and defense are untested in the pro's. His chin has already been tested, and we know.

Stivererne for his part can box and punch. His defense is solid enough. Don't be surprised if this one end early with Wilder out. So says boxing history.
And if wilder wins will you give him credit or move the goal post?

I don't have my ears to the ground like I used to when I was a younger man. However, I heard gym scuttlebutt a few years ago that Wilder had a chin of poor quality glass. I heard Wlad could barely use him for gym work. I'm cheering for Wilder. Stiverne has zero personality and would give Wlad zero problems. I think Stiverne should win. Wilder has never fought at this level. Wilder could be good, but his people are moving him like he isn't.

I really doubt if wlad would have used wilder for 50 rounds of sparring if his chin was poor. He had nothing but good to say about him.
