there are to many boxer who i would favour over amir and deserve more to be in a p4p top 30. thurman, brook, porter, danny, matthysse, maidana, provodnikov just to name some.....

Thurmans last fight was a stink fest and he has not beaten anybody of note yet
Brook is good but has really only beaten Porter
Porter was in a close fight with alexander who KING KHAN brought to school
Danny has been fighting school boys the last year
matthysse is good but gets beat when he steps up
Maidana is the most over rated boxer on the planet and his only good win was against fat lad broner
provodnikov got beat by feather fists Algieri

That's a bit skewed. Kessler, while not 100% what he was, was hardly shot - even gave Froch a hard fight of it as I remember. Plus you don't mention the condition that Dawson was in going into their fight. And I don't see what makes Rodriguez better than Groves, other than maybe chin. Maybe.

However someone deals with a fighter's inactivity in their p4p lists is bound to be arbitrary whatever they do. While most either have a 12 month cut off point or just ignore it and rank them as if they were still fighting, that is in itself no less arbitrary than Horse's method of moving them down the list piecemeal until they fight again.

Nobody is uninformed enough to think that Froch is actually better than Ward. It is just about how you deal with the inactivity.
