It's total horseshite, for blokes that can't cut it in genuine competition so they fight amongst their own.

The fights are all one paced, they have no explosiveness whatsoever. A decent young kid with good footwork and a jab would totally destroy them. Make them miss til they gas and then unload on them.

As for the 'legends' it seems they get better with every passing year. They totally believe they're own myths.

I can't believe so many people buy into it. They just love the macho mythology of it all.

I know what you're saying, Stevie. There are some knackers and frauds floating around but some of the lads who fight 'straighteners' are really accomplished at what they do, there are far better ways to spend your time than bashing your knuckles up whilst getting your face fucked up though. Mug's game.

Could be interesting but not enough to do PPV.

Seen it advertised on only ONE website.... it's a crock... could be that Gunn is trying to keep his name out there because of the big talk of Shamrock and Quinn... however, I think this is a fraud... Mind you Gunn was supposed to fight Quinn (he challenged him out, etc) and THAT never happened either.

The common denominator is Gunn. He is a showman. When it comes to BKB, he's an actor. He wants the attention, so he can get himself another payday in gloved boxing. Long as his name is out there, and people think he's a champion bare knuckler, he remains 'viable' even though he was a journeyman at best in the gloved world.

Trust me... I knew the man personally for three years, and whenever I tried to 'rank' certain fighters (for a time I worked at ATGRADIO and tried to set up a world bkb rankings system) or encourage and support the idea of him fighting someone who made one iota of sense--- he would turn nasty and treat you like complete dog sh!t even though you were his "pal" or "friend" or "brother" as he likes to say a hundred times in conversations. Next thing you know he would be "fighting" someone like "Ernest Jackson" or "Big Daddy Bang" or some other guy nobody ever heard of.

No boys... if you're gonna spend your money on anything at all... then I would spend your dime on events and fights that have the European guys on them. You never can go wrong when the headliners are James McCrory or Joe Joyce, or Decca Heggie and others. James Quinn McDonagh, though I've had my own share of words against the man, I hold more stock in as showing up and fighting a real fight than I do Gunn.

Gunn likes to be the king, and the firgurehead, and the poster boy for the "sport" of BKB... but he sure as hell doesn't want to do what he ought to, and that's fight and fight often and fight the people he ought to be fighting... instead he likes to do these circus acts. And hey, he makes money off these stunts of his--- just don't be naive and buy a ppv with his name on it, cus it ALWAYS falls through. That's part of the con and the gimmick.

I will add, though, in the TECHNICAL sense at least a "bare knuckle" contest can take place in the state of Wyoming because there is no state commission there.... HOWEVER.... if one takes a gander at the Tommy Morrison and Corey Williams "fight", all one needs to do is give a tip off to the ABC and they'll call the FBI and put a squash to matches that are A) dangerous, B) potentially life threatening.

Also this "match" seems to be taking place inside of a club... if one looks at the laws, in the TECHNICAL sense, as long as the match is between club members (and am sure both men can claim the status) and both men are only being paid "training expenses" it is legal... however, there is a catch to that little known law...

I know the young kid on the one in a Manchester shopping centre that got hit on the sly and then boxed his head off. It went viral. He's a good boxer to be fair.
