Ridiculous and embsressing although ronnie doesn't care hell fight down there any day, and mate this is saltire promotions, they won't the Cornish v sexton and kris Carslaw eliminator and been doing really good things up here, yeah I would like to see him in with kays too, it's not gonna be down to ronnie saying no, Mike I have no idea who he will be on with, he's down at welter and same as ronnie will take a test, it's gonna be a good show,

Dont know the figures mate just know erroll isnt the biggest payer . Was funny how gilmore won the carlsaw welborn purse bid at the same time tho. Ben jones or femi wud also b good fights.

It wasn't Tommy who won purse bids mate for them, saltire is run by Iain wilson and colin bellshaw, colin is kris Carslaw trainer also, Tommy never even attempted to win the purse as far as I'm aware and if we had new that I'm sure granite promotion would have wanted it as ronnie a bigger draw than troy who I got told sold 60 tickets for a home show, his promotor did good by him and I hope he remains loyal, femi isn't st the weight from what I hear but have faith in saltire, seem to be reslly
Up for the job, modernised St andrews club which they bought from Tommy also, dundee really can be a good seller if they promote it in the right way as ronnie and mikey both good sellers along with jamie wilson who can shift around a 100, Connor law also on bill with George and james Thompson

My mistake then mate. I think he did more i know he did around 100 for the fight with chris. Femi is fighting andy townsend in a eliminator for commonwealth title next couple weeks

Townsend wins that, would take either of them, both limited boxers andy with a decent dig, ronnie is tough and troy for being a big puncher said didnt dent him, hardest puncher he said he's foight is Rogowski who beat liam hanahran, ronnie said he could dig with evans and troy not in his top 3, I wanna see all super feather fight each other, been a poor division with boring fights to be honest, only fight if mandated kinda thing, is Chris interested in coming back or that it for him?

Not 100%.sure of his plans tbh he is in the gym tho. Yeah the fights need to happen for the fans to keep interested

Can anyone say who Towell is fighting next Saturday. Its becoming very disappointing how his career is being handled.
Almost a year ago I saw possibly the most exciting Scottish prospect in 10 years destroy a usually durable Rhys Pagan and since then ( October) he's had 1 fight on a dinner show on a Monday night against perennial loser Kevin McAuley.
This boy should have had at least 4 fights in the last year against increasingly higher rated British based fighters just to confirm his progress.
I don't know the background, I don't even know who manages him, perhaps he's been injured - I don't know.
But please, please have him fight a good opponent this week and don't continue to destroy a promising career.

Hey mate, he's managed by Tommy gilmour, I don't say too much regarding mikey as his team misinterpret it, like you I rate him very highly , he brings a lot to the table and very tv friendly style , from what I know he's not had an injury and Iv heard no word of who he is fighting, although I don't think it will be the test that your hoping for, if he's going to fight these kinds of learning fights he needs to be active, to his defence he was scheduled to go fight an unbeaten kid in Canada but think it fell through last minute and heard he was invited to go to the show still, wether he did or not I couldn't say, after this one I think they will plan few more fights then try get him an eliminator up here, just seems like they are guiding him into a position to fight up here, and mah e a few eliminators , time will tell

We don't know who it to be honest. Chris Addaway I think is the name I won't hold my breath seems like a decent fight. I heard he was robbed against Thomas Walsh

It's down on the schedule now.. never seen chris fight just know his boxed lee glover (local to me 9-2) and lost seems to take alot of short notice fights on the road.

I'm sure Mikey was looking for a better opponent than that. Boy has 40 losses and lost his last 6. Surely was better opponents here in the UK. Rhys Pagan was screaming for a rematch first fight was great bit of a shame on Mikey. Sure he will make it a show for his fans. From what im being told Chris is very good and Ronnie is in for a hard nights work. Looking forward to a good show sure all the Dundee lads will put on a show for the fans

They struggled to get an opponent for Mike and the rest of the boxers as theres so many shows in March aparently. He had a Bulgarian boy for an international belt up until wednesday but he pulled out due to gallstones

Yeah to be honest Iv found it all a hard sale, not sure what the circumstances are regarding the whole thing, feel like being no promoting, no fighters booked as opponents until fight week and a cup final day after, still sold enough but I won't be rushing to help again, I ain't no promotor and journeymen have a place in the game but for me an untapped city like dundee is not there place, we need good fights to lure the neutrals back, Chris adaway is seemingly tough opponent but people look at record and automatically go what's going on here he gets beat more than he wins, I said same for ronnie fight with stupart it makes a mockery of the sport, that's not worthy of a belt ,Chloe although you feel this is negative I think Mike has a bright future but I struggle to see where he develops fighting for a title against someone with 40 losses loosing his last 7 or so, our fighters are better than that and we will
Struggle to sell shows here while it runs this way, big fan of saltire and what there doing up here but why do we continue to bullshit our friends and family? He isnt fighting for a title, he was supposed to be but the boy pulled out! And i know what your saying and i agree, Last min opponents 4 days before a fight and no promotion whatso ever, it should have been all over local newspapers etc! They say its because so many March shows but godknows. But like you said, it looks bad on paper but if you flip it the boy Mikes fighting has won more fights than michaels fought.. Also looked the same with Kevin Mccauley but was aparently a really good fight and it gave him the chance to go the distance of ten rounds which alot of people didnt think he could! And Mike had an opponent in mind for Dundee but he already had a fight arranged round about the same time!

Very difficult situation all round for the promoters. They estimate the total outlay ( hiring of the hall, stewards, ring hire, officials fees etc) and I would guess this comes to about £5,000 ??? They then have to estimate ticket sales. I would reckon the attendance on the night might be about 400. If the tickets average out at £30 , then the income is around £12,000. So using these figures the promoters ( without even considering making ANY profit) have about £7,000 to pay the boxers. I would guess that a 6 x 3 minutes contest would earn each boxer about £1,200 each. So 3 fights of that duration and the money's gone.

I would love to see Towell fighting a British boxer whose higher up the unofficial rankings, and who also has ambition. As suggested above, someone like that coming to Dundee to fight 8 rounds will be demanding about £2,000 at least .
Sadly, its all down to money. If Towell could sell 500 tickets on his own( I don't mean personally, I mean if he could attract that following), he'd get the big fights. If he can't, then I'm sorry to say, he'll be fighting Latvian/Lithuanian/ Estonian/ Serbian road sweepers until he can be tied down to an eliminator somewhere in England, when all the odds will be stacked against him, and he'll probably be unprepared for that level.

From my point of view I would have took someone like andy townend or Peter cope for ronnie, there has been very little promotion for this, I said to them there's a cup final day after is this still on and they said yes, ronnie has
Covered costs for his fight but the job could have been easier, in dundee myself and davidee pushed last show last minute with tay fm, newspapers, posters and ronnie went to dundee Derby im sure on pitch, 2 guys who were just helping out so these professional promotors need to do it properly or not at all, not fair on ronnie or mikey, how can they justify taking £40,£60 and £90 for this fight night, Iv not seen a single poster , mikey needs to consider his management as although I see the point regarding distance and positives after a fight with pagan, momentum could have been gained, craig kelly in Dundee was the fight and the opportunity missed again, easy fight to make and mcAllister now took the chance , ronnie understands his situation hence why he goes on the road, his promotor isn't willing to invest hence why his purse bid for troy james was so absmal, saltire may invest in mikey like they did with Cornish so they have tested the water with dundee , used ronnie to boost sales , Iv been told mikey is doing 10 rounds for a masters belt Chloe, hence why he's main event,
