I would like to see DeGale and Groves both fight Dirrell brothers first. Then they can unify if they both win. That would be massive. And if they dont win, well at least we have seen DeGale vs Andre, which is much better fight for me then DeGale v Groves 2.

To be fair I think in that situation (unification etc) and with all the expected hype and pre fight antics, it could do a sstadium. Dunno if would be enough to justify Wembley though maybe somewhere to suit around 35-40k.

Would have to be London seen as they're both London boys. (Shame as Villa Park would be good). Can't see it a Stamford coz of the Groves connection. Wembley and Emirates too big. White heart lane would be good but Degales Arsenal apparently. So that would leave Upton Park. Wouldn't a be bad idea considering it's already held Mitchell Katsidis and Haye Chisora and would be about the right size.

Granted not on it's own but if you added fights like Quigg v Galahad,AJ vs Price/Haye it would easily sell wembley plus Groves v Degale could be a unification fight. Hearns booked wembley two times this summer and I reckon he will want to use it atleast once

None of those fights will be made this summer. Michael Watson was Arsenal through and through, but fought Eubank at White Hart Lane. It's London, it doesn't matter where they fight. Football allegiances don't come into it. Neither have the football crowd behind them anyway, only Josh Warrington does in a big way.

I think the football 'connections' of those pair are just an attempt tilo tap into a new fanbase. Marketing more than support.

I don't see any combination of Groves/Degale/whoever selling enough tickets for a massive show at Wembley Stadium, Froch v Groves 2 was a one off due to all the controversy and hype

Toilet clubs. Both seem supporters of convenience too, as you say, attempting to attract a few fans.

Better off aiming for West Ham, the self styled East End hardnut/gangster wannabes would be a better crowd to target

I think that's why Warrington has tapped in so effectively, he's a genuine fan, always has been, and drops off the tickets himself. He's personally sold 3,000 already for April. Carl Johannesson's uncle was a Leeds legend but he never got the backing.

Tapering off slightly but I've said it before on here. NUFC would be the perfect club to represent in boxing. 1 club city, big club, starved of success. A genuine Newcastle fan could pull huge numbers if promoted in the right way. Is Brad Saunders a Newcastle fan?

I agree about NUFC. All those trying to tap in need to realise though that fans see through bullshit support. A daft as a brush geordie lad would be great for uk boxing.

One problem though, most boxing events don't allow you to wear football shirts. Not a problem for most clubs but I'm sure thats all those geordies own

Brad's not even from Newcastle and sounds nothing like a Geordie. Middlesbrough are his nearest decent club.
