Re: Best Boxers Record in world title fights

In 4 years Golovkin will be 37. Klitschko and Floyd are 38 today. That should mean that GGG is currently looking in the best position to reach the coveted prize.
He's definitely not in the best position. Wlad is. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush & all that.Tarkus wrote:In 4 years Golovkin will be 37. Klitschko and Floyd are 38 today. That should mean that GGG is currently looking in the best position to reach the coveted prize.
Idk about GGG becoming the PPV king ever. I think the top guys could need to go thru GGG soon so I agree with you there. He's definitely the guy at 160 & any big fight at 160 not involving him ain't THAT big. The main issue is I don't see the monster movie fight titles at 160. Mayweather or Pacquiao vs the laundry joint owner down the street is gonna outsell anything GGG could do at 160 in my mind. Those 160 B sides is the problem basically. Maybe if the B sides can build themselves up a bit its possible, but that'll take years & GGG is turning 33 in a couple months. Time & big name opponents (B side or otherwise) isn't on his side. If you look at most of the PPV draws they became draws over time & had a much earlier starting with that growth or a big name to piggyback off of if their rise was quicker.sucracristo wrote:then every GGG fight
will be against the top guy people want to see him fight and he could become the
ppv king in just over a year.
Inoue is a great shout as would be Kosei Tanaka. Neither have managed to get close to the list but could easily see both fighting top competition for a decade plus.IRLangmaid25 wrote:The fighters who are able to do reach 100 points for me would be
Wladimir K (as he is pretty near).
Gennady Golovkin.
Plus also ( in time)
Roman Gonzalez
Naoya Inoue
Terrace Crawford
Vasyl Lomanchenko.
Are the stands out
No we are not counting IBO, He is already on the list, ranked 15th with 62 points.Lenny Cravats wrote:Are we counting IBO?
If not, then Naseem Hamed was 16-0 (14)
Which would give him 62 points, or 59 if you count the IBO loss to Barrera.
Thanks a lot mate but Calzaghe remains at the same sport because they have the same amount of Points but Calzaghe has more wins, I explained on top of the topic how I rank the fighters. How didnt anyone mention this guy?fergusg wrote:It appears that you need to relegate Joe Calzaghe, because according to your methodology, there’s a fighter that was the WBA World super flyweight title champion between 1984 & 1991 who may be ranked higher than him:Aaronide_ger wrote:Hello guys I created a list which is not completed yet and I need your help. The list consists of the best boxers that competed in World title fights.
Pt System: Win=3 Pts (KO=+1 Pt) , Draw=0 Pts , Lose= - 3 Pts (KO= -1 pt) (WIN-LOSE-DRAW)
**If 2 boxers tie in pts then the one with the most wins will be placed ahead of the other, if they have the same number of wins then the one with the least losses will be placed ahead of the other and if the have the same number of losses then the one with the least Draws will be placed ahead of the other, If they have the same numvber of draws then the one the with most KOs will be placed ahead of the winner
**In the HIGHEST KO% if a boxer that has a same % with another one he will be ranked higher IF he has more KOs.
**This list is just a ranking that shows which boxer had the most success in world title fights, dont take it seriously as there might be boxers with less pts that are better than others with less pts.

WBA regular counts as a world title fight. the same is with everyone else (Watch Rigondeux,Froch)fergusg wrote:If we’re going to be pedantic and only class actual, genuine, full-blown world championships, when we do the scoring, then we must dismiss Gennady Golovkin from consideration, because…
By my reckoning, Gennady Golovkin has only competed in three fully-fledged world title fights, as he was only elevated to being the WBA super world champion shortly before the Daniel Geale bout.
GGG has competed in one “interim”, ten “regular” and three “super” WBA world title fights.
Only the “super” version counts and Gennady has not competed in a single lineal championship bout either.
Simply put: Gennady Golovkin has only scored 12 points.
If you’d like to consider GGG, because he has been the best 160lb-er, despite not holding a proper belt (i.e. dismissing the other 160lb champs even though he didn’t fight them), then you have to add a boat load of points to the other guys as well for precisely the same reason.
Only WBA,WBC,IBF,WBO. Any other title does not count, nor interim ones.fergusg wrote:Your list might get messy if your counting any old Tom, Dick or Harry ABC junior nonentity title.Aaronide_ger wrote:WBA regular counts as a world title fight. the same is with everyone else (Watch Rigondeux,Froch)
For instance: Johnny Nelson competed in one WBU title fight and seven WBF world title fights. Does that push him near the top of your list?
By their own admission, the WBA don't regard the regular belt as their most senior title, which means it holds as much value of the WBU & WBF straps.
Go to Boxrec Biography, Thats where I got this idea first. they have GGG at 14-0 in title fights, so I went along with that thats why I dont include any other title. Its not like I made it to favour fighters. (And Yea Golovkin IS my favorite fighter but that doesnt change the fact that Marvin Hagler is still Better than him Overall, His Resume is WAY WAY above Golovkin's. This is just a point system for fun purposes).fergusg wrote:If you’re including the WBA’s lesser world “regular” title amongst your points system, why don’t you also include secondary alphabet titles from the other three main governing bodies, such as the WBO international championship?Aaronide_ger wrote:Update.
*Golovkin Gains 4 points, Rising from No.21 to No.18
*Roman Gonzalez gains 4 points, Rising from No.36 to No.31
Also I will add Eusebio Pedroza 19-2-1 (11 KOs) , 61 pts , KO Ratio=50,00% When I have time
Is there a reason why you’ve decided to include the WBA “regular” belt that is usually not recognised by the media as a "real" title… or is your agenda to gear your list to favour particular fighters’ (i.e. to suggest that Gennady Golovkin has a better world title record than Marvin Hagler)?
