The big question will be does Floyd hit hard enough to get Manny's respect? If yes, he wins clear decision. If not, I can see Pac landing the harder shots and getting a close decision based on his aggression.
Ask Ortiz?

I am really not sure .... MW if it goes the distance .. I do have a funny feeling that Manny just might catch MW cold and KO ...
however I thought the Alvarez and MW would be a close fight

Manny hasn't KO'd anyone cold in the longest, I'm not sure he has that type of punching power. He couldn't KO Bradley and hit him with everything, same to Algieri, Rios and JMM.
Mayweather has a very underrated chin. I don't ever see Manny scoring a one punch KO the way he did with Hatton ever again.

I've always secretly questioned Floyd's jaw for some reason. I guess I tend to think guys so heavily defense oriented are that way for a reason.
Looking at the Mayweather gene pool between his father & uncles it doesn't really appear that way amongst their 29 combined losses there are only 10 KO defeats & they mostly took place when they were younger & not as crafty more than likely. I do see the trend that between the 3 brothers they fought 6 fights vs HOFers & lost 4 of those fights by KO (lost the other 2 by decision). Floyd has probably fought more future HOFers than all 3 combined, but they tend to have given him some of his more compelling fights (Miguel-gritty fight despite the one sidedness of the scorecards, Oscar-very close fight, Shane-mighta landed the hardest punch against Floyd ever) & Manny is for sure a future HOF guy. I guess kinda meaningless stat sh!t, but kinda interesting.

Folks should pay close attention to this post.
Provodnikov had Tim out on his feet several times and down once; although he certainly hurt Tim often, Pac never had Bradley in any serious trouble in 24 rounds.
He's KD Marquez 5 times in 4 fights, but never finished him.
Never got Rios in serious trouble.
Bounced Algieri off the canvas 6 times but could not get him out of there.
Yet somehow, Manny is supposed to KO Floyd.
Doesn't make sense. Especially since Pac would not be the hardest puncher Floyd has taken blows from.

Sounds like he could be over due for a KO then KBB lol Please dont think that my judgement rests on Manny KO floyd the funny feeling is not based on form ...
ps Bradley is a wiley old goat he managed to just about stand up to Provodnikov barrage ...

I'm surprised this poll is so close, 60/40ish Floyd.

like vlad had to but thank god MW is an art form and not as ugly
MW been buzzed a few times in a couple of fights .. but its hard to gauge MW chin as it seldomly gets caught ... his defensive game is phenomenal ....

Maidana, Canelo, and Cotto caught Floyd flush on several occasions. None has Pac's speed, but all certainly hit as hard or harder than Manny

The blatant pro pacquiao bias in me want to believe Manny will steamroller Floyd.
But truth be known, i can't see him outsmarting him or ocerwhelming him
With the KO out highly unlikely for either man, I see it roughly 116-112 floyd.
I still genuinely believe Pacquiao would have been too much for him when he was at his best but those days are gone.
Both men are past their prime and i think the loss of pace from Manny along with what looked like an loss of killer instinct and perhaps even a reduce workrate in recent fights is likely to affect him more than any slowing from floyd who still has the skills, intellegence and timing he needs to win this fight.

Pacman wins by SD. Floyd lost his legs and I think this will be the factor in the fight. Mayweather can't run away in this fight. Pacquiao will be there with him every minute, making Mayweather work.
Pacman SD. 115-113

The weight limit is 147, there is no rematch clause, each man wears their usual brand of gloves, 60-40 split.

How are Al and Max for neutrality? To me Paulie seems extremely biased against Pac and has repeatedly accused him of PED use, so I don't think he'd be a good choice.

I voted Maywether. Most likely, it will be a close fight, and there is no way that Vegas judges will give a win to Pac if the fight is close.

Maybe, but then again I think the scores for Mayweather's last four fights were generous to his opponents.

KBB wrote:Floyd is going to win this rather easily, especially after 4 rounds. Once Mayweather figures out Manny's timing, speed and habits (he has many bad ones) then it is going to be a boxing clinic. Pacquiao is too short just as JMM was, Manny is faster than JMM but he makes too many mistakes. Pacquiao is off balance too much, jumps in which will leave him open for counters and make it easy to time him like JMM did, Floyd' jab will offset all of that jumping in and once Manny gets whacked with a few hard shots he will become reluctant to just bulrush his way in just as Canelo, Mosley and the rest of them did.
There was a reason Oscar stopped coming forward and Manny is going to find out quicker than they did because of him being at a reach disadvantage, he may knock Pacquiao down at least 2 or 3 times before a corner stoppage is imposed but the more likely outcome will be Floyd by an easy UD after the 4th round.
Easily? Big prediction there KBB.

See I think the opposite. I do not think Floyd can win this if it is a close fight.

There is a dynamic here though KBB. Floyd rarely gets hit flush, and pac is a very spiteful puncher. If and it's a big if, but if he can land regular this fight is nowhere as simple you are making this out to be.
Fighters like Bradley get tagged all day, it doesn't effect their ego and often doesn't effect their gameplan in a fight. Trying to out point a fighter that's tagging you harder and more regularly than you are use to, could provide a world of trouble to floyd.

I expect the first 8 rounds or so to be extremely hard fought and even, Mayweather will have more in the tank down the stretch though IMO.
I don't really cares who wins I just hope it's a good fight

The same Ortiz that got KO'd by Collazao? Yet you believe Floyd will knock down Pacquiao in route to a stoppage yet don't believe Pacquiao do the same. Pretty biased.

I think Mayweather is better, and I think he will most likely win.
I'm betting on Pacquiao. Because of a flaw I see in Floyd that nobody has fully taken advantage of yet. On the rare occasion Floyd gets buzzed with a big shot, he doesn't tie up and recover. He got rocked by Corley and Mosley, and both times he did the macho thing try to show the guy he wasn't hurt instead of clearing his head. It almost bit him in the ass when Shane cracked him again. That can be a crucial mistake.
Now obviously Manny isn't as relentless or accurate as he used to be, but he still has the odd angles and swift feet to get through with some shots. He will catch Floyd, and cleaner than Maidana did. If one of those shots has Floyd wobbling, shit is gonna get real interesting.
But smarter heads realize that Floyd's straight right hand is phenomenal and Manny gets hit with more right hands now than at any other point.. Damn I'm just glad it's signed.
