I don't need to show you anything mate.

My opinion is that this fight will be £50 PPV, and your opinion is it will be £20

Neither of us need to "prove" anything - debating it further until the prices are known is futile.
No chance

Since Sky have been doing pay per views (20 years or so) it has always been £15/£18

They have never changed any prices in this country in regard to how big the fight is
Take no notice of him mate, he's just trolling.

ESPN Classic would be the best option. :witzend:

BT SPORT might throw their hat into the ring.

And their hat is considerably bigger than Sky's.

They might even co-broadcast it with BN.

It will be on Sky ppv imo,bt will bid but won`t match what Sky could offer with ppv money, unless they really wanted to make a statement and went big on this fight.

When this foul practice was first introduced, Tyson/Bruno II was a tenner.

Interesting because there is no mention of BoxN@tion!
The Mirror probably don't even know that allegedly exists, I don't think they even have a dedicated boxing writer. The tabloids don't really have a clue what's happening, they make shit up all the time, I can't see it being BT, do they even have the set up to put a PPV on?

£10 in 1996 is about equal to £17 now according to the inflation calculator :TU: ,so not too bad!

Also can the OP make this into a pole, I would be interested to see what the masses think!

E.g.
BoxN@tion
Sky Sports
Sky Box Office
BT Sports
Terrestrial
Multiple Channels!

I'm not sure you can call the Boxrec B&I forum "the masses" :TU:

I don't forecast this fight being the "huge seller" that people predict in UK.

UK fans don't have an affinity with either fighter, not to mention the impact of it being on at 4am.

When Hatton boxed Floyd, it was across every newspaper, every forum had dozens and dozens of pages dedicated to travel, how it would pan out.

Barely anything discussed since it was announced - and certainly no ten page threads. The reason being, is that it's all been discussed in the previous five years to death.

If Sky tried to flog this for more than their usual price, they'd be seriously p*ssing in the wind if you ask me. (should they secure it).

Then again, they have vastly overvalued other shows in the last quarter already.

"A bidding war is under way for TV rights in at least 200 countries outside the US, the UK included with Sky, BT, B0xNati0n and perhaps ITV in contention for the bout, which is due to take place in Las Vegas on May 2."

He also assuaged the public indignation by assuring us PPV would be a 'once a year event' only for 'very special fights'.

20 years later. . . . Bellew/Cleverly II.

PPV turned a lot of people off boxing in the mid-90s, I remember it very clearly.

It's 5 years too late for it being the fight of the century, I doubt the man on the street would care enough to pay £20+ to watch it at 5am, hard core boxing fans will so if there is a TV bidding war it might end up in tears

If it is PPV to watch the weigh-in live on TV, then anybody who orders that (hardcore fans included) should be ashamed of themselves lol!

Be great for ITV to get it, I'd say that they must be the total outsiders though. Free in HD on terrestrial TV with the ability to record it, potentially massive for the sport overall :box: Even a next day package for ITV could be fantastic.

I know a fair few people that ordered BN on the back of the Fury-Chisora II card but they obviously cancelled after a month. How many new subscribers would BN pick up through this fight? They are also hindered on Virgin because it is not in HD, not sure about TalkTalk either.

Also, would it be possible for two channels to broadcast it? Such as BT and Sky or ITV, the same way that some of the big footy games are.

Pay to enter venue to watch the weigh-in.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but Channel 5 just don't have the budget for a show that big.

It'll be a hell of statement of intent if ITV managed to get the fight. Don't see it happening though. I imagine it'll be between Sky and allegedly.

No disrespect to jeff powell, but he is no more the wiser than anyone.

BT can drop £10m on a single hull football match apparently.

I think SKY have it.

On Friday night / Saturday morning on SKY Sports News, at about 1:30am, they went over to Germany live for the thoughts of Johnny Nelson and Adam Smith on the Pacman Mayweather fight finally being confirmed. The news had only broke about 90 mins earlier.

Both men looked tired and Nelson was bumbling through his lines, as per usual. Nelson said something that made me think SKY alreay have it. He said something along the lines of he's very privileged to be doing the job that he's got as it will allow him to be part of one of the biggest fights in recent memory. Adam Smith looked at Johnny with a fixed stare and Johnny quickly changed his tune saying he can't beleive he'll finally get to watch this fight on TV, or "whatever we'll be doing for this on the night".

I think Nelson has let the cat out of the bag.
