Cotto isn't planning on doing 160, he was offered a good payday to get a 4 division title against a big name who was pretty much handicapped going in. GGG is living on mars if he think he's getting Cotto in the ring. If GGG was still in his 20's I would be keeping my mouth shut and just hey ket him pile up the defenses but he's in his 30's and everyone gets old at some point. He had a poo load of amateur fights and yes he hasn't had any tough fights as a pro but he may down hill by the time he's 34.
How come Sergio's fights against Macklin and Murray were tough enough, while Golovkin's aren't ? He is just so much better than Sergio or any other MW in recent past and present that it seems like his opposition is not tough.

I don't remember saying they were major title defenses. I do think GGG is better than Sergio but we can't know for certain because he's staying around 160 and fighting these jokers.

As a matter of fact I used to bitch about Sergio and his team wanting to fight welters and jrmiddle fighters saying they would go to 154. i know for a fact he could make 154 and there was shit load of fight back then and yet he stayed at 160.

Right, the whole weight class are jokers.

Why aren't crowds of light middles moving up and grabbing all those MW titles ? Andrade was offered to fight Korobov for a title but chickened out.

None of the above.
Cotto or Canelo at 160 or Abraham at 168.

I'm sure the money wasn't right.....u truly can't think Andrade would be scared of Korobov. Even before Korobov was beaten he wasn't impressing anyone. The 154 crowds aint moving up because GGG is there haha. Its not because of Korobov or Andy Lee.

The same way as Haymon's and many other middleweights are successfully avoiding GGG, light middles moving up could target belts not belonging to Golovkin, but they are not doing that. Andrade was certainly unsure that he could beat Korobov. Not that he found a better paying option.

I selected other, not because I have a suitable answer, but because I think his time at Middleweight is done.
He has achieved everything he needs to, but clings on to the hope that he can get a fight with Cotto. I don't blame him for wanting it as he would absolutely blow the guy away, and pick up the WBC belt, but realistically he needs to find a new challenge now. The Supper Middleweight division would offer some good matchups for GGG.

He wants all MW belts, and he is getting the WBC one whether Cotto fights him or not. Some people like Quillin are still calling themselves best middleweights, so GGG needs to shut their mouths first before moving up.

Quillin will never fight GGG. He's hoping GGG moves up sooner than later, so he can become "champ" by proxy, fighting as a career undercard fighter. GGG just wants Cotto for the PPV notoriety, money and that WBC title that he's been chasing. Cotto needs to do boxing a favor and either fight GGG or vacate, so then he can move up to SMW.
Canelo-Cotto dicked around instead of fighting in early 2015, even though the WBC has mandated GGG to get the next shot, I wouldn't be surprised if they postponed it so Canelo-Cotto happens for September. And that's another issue... Canelo will be in no hurry to fight GGG, so this could turn into quite the time wasting.

All I know is that he needs to stop facing the guys we know he will beat easily and step it up because he isn't getting any younger and if the bums at 60 are too afraid to take a beatdown from him then he should move to 168 beat Chavez and call out Ward.
No more excuses or passes for him, everyone has already been saying he can beat basically everyone from 54 to 75 (including Kovalev)......he doesn't get a gimme from me until he proves it.

Nobody is saying that he would beat LHWs. He is ready to face Chavez, Froch or Abraham at any time, as these are good money fights. However, promoters/advisers of these guys don't want to discuss these fights with Loefler. If somebody comes up with good money for the Ward fight and Andre will be ready for an equal split, then I am sure that fight would happen too. Fighting others at this time makes no sense to me, as it will not bring more money or recognition among casual fans.
P.S. If/after Sturm beats the younger Chudinov in May, he becomes a good target too, but he will likely keep ducking.

What is not funny is you repeating the same crap about Golovkin while pretending to be a fan of his.

I speculate about the names that Golovkin is likely to face and then moan about the fact that my prediction comes to fruition!
I am a huge admirer of Gennady Golovkin, but I feel that his career has been badly managed by both Universum and then by K2.
Tom Loeffler is not a man that seems to doing his upmost to promote his charge! He won’t fund big fights for his man... nor will he grant him the paydays he clearly deserves!
GGG is a pound-for-pound fighter and I was over-the-moon to see him overcome his first real challenge posed by the strong talented and top-tier world-rated Martin Murry, but now it troubles me that he’s having to take a step back down in class!
This isn’t a personal thing about Gennady Golovkin’s talent, because it seems we’re on the same page when it comes to that.
The difference between me and you is that you’re happy to see the Kazakh puncher remain at 160lbs to face anonymous unheralded mid-tier fighters. Whereas I’d rather see him face the bigger names that compete at either 154lbs or 168lbs weight classes.
It seems that I like to enjoy expensive luxurious rib eye steaks, but you prefer cheap and nasty McDonalds burgers!

Do you realize that he fights 4 times a year ? He could fight once or twice a year as many, but he prefers to fight SOMEBODY even if nothing better is available. Can you name a boxer fighting quality opposition 4 or at least 3 times a year ?
Monroe is a southpaw, and Golovkin hasn't fought a southpaw since Proksa, so if nothing else, it will be a good training fight.

Just look at the other top fighters. NONE is consistently fighting the best opposition. Mayweather fought Maidana twice, while there is a line of better volunteers. Pacquiao's last two fights were Rios and Algieri. Ward fought Rodriguez. I don't even want to mention Haymon fighters who are consistently involved in mismatches.

And by the way, do you really want to go down the route of comparing the likes of Maidana, Rios and Algieri to the fighters that Golovkin has defeated? Really?
Maybe not Maidana, but Rios and Algieri are no better than Geale, Rubio and Murray. Besides, I meant quality of fighters compared to what is available, and Floyd could fight anybody. Every WW of LMW would drop everything when getting an offer from Floyd.

Golovkin got on HBO 2.5 years ago, and he progressed from an obscure WBA champion to a star known to some casual fans and included to p4p top 10 by every respectable source. K2 is moving him in the right direction. They could probably have done it faster, but nobody is perfect.
None of 154 or 168-pounders capable of bringing any significant money to the table wanted to fight Golovkin, so his team followed their strategy to keep fighting a best available middleweight. Soon other MW belt holders will have nobody to fight, as all decent boxers will be beaten by GGG.

Gennady Golovkin isn’t receiving paydays befitting of a pound-for-pound fighter, nor is he engaging in any fights against big names.
The last two years or so, we regularly heard bold proclamations stating that Gennady is chasing fights against the biggest names in the sport ranging from the 154lb to 168lb weight division… we also receive other promises stating that the supremely talented Kazakh will headline his own PPV event, but none of these vows have been fulfilled… or even come remotely close to being realised.
I cannot argue with you when you say that GGG’s reputation has gradually grown in stature, but it’s more about his talent and the support he receives from boxing journalists, rather than the promotional and TV network marketing efforts performed by K2 or HBO.
Gennady usually competes against mid-tier rated opponents and dominates them with ease… that is all! He’s capable of far more, but his potential lies unfulfilled, because he isn’t receiving the paydays nor the opportunities he clearly deserves… and the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of HBO and K2 promotions.
I honestly don’t know why you’re extremely satisfied with putting up with mediocrity?

I am not extremely satisfied but I am blaming the guys who are hiding from him and their handlers. Yes, some blame may be shared by K2, but you just plain blaming them alone.
