we dont need him making an already racially sensitive event even more racial. Just read the ESPN comments on the Pac-May stories, its pretty much black vs. white. Obviously Floyd has a lot of black fans and a lot people (who happen to be white) obviously dont like Mayweather. We dont need people fighting their racial wars on a sporting event.SenorPipino wrote:Do you possibly think that Hopkins makes his comments as strictly a means to stir the pot and create interest in a fight?
A lot of blacks will come out, buy tickets and fervently support him while many white will cough up the bucks to see him get beat.
Like promoters, savvy boxers also know how to prey upon fans' emotions and sell a bout. Hopkins does it well.
He probably chuckles at the naive getting worked up over his so-called "racial" comments, which were orchestrated and likely cleared ahead of time with Calzaghe's blessing.
Ok so we talk heavyweights , naturaly being the best because of size , we concede that the top 2 are eastern european , but the previous years the top 2 were predominatly black , and go past the top 2 , have a look at the top 15 how many are black ,, . No need for the whitey to feel insecure cos the black man can fight a bit better , there bone structure is more suited to fighting , don't cut has easy ect ect . Generally speaking a rougher up bringingRicky_ wrote:coneye wrote:So Hopkins thinks that the black man is a superior fighter in general to the white boys ,, Now were not talking soilders here were talking fighters , so guess what ,, they generally are . not all , but pick out 10 white guys at random , and go pick out 10 black guys , all around the same size and weight , , and chances are the black guys will beat us up ,
But were smarter , we would find a way to cheat and put the odds back with us , its just the nature of things ,,, Of course every one has a mate who can beat up the black guys but by and large i think the black guys , tend to be a bit more athletic and a lot more agressive , . heard they got bigger dicks too ,, but heh , who cares , ,, has long has they don't go round beating me up , or boning my missis , i'm not to fussed .
Ridiculous. The best fighter on the planet is an eastern European. The 2nd best is his brother. There are some racial stereotypes in boxing due to genetics, obvious ones being Asain & Mexican dominating smaller weight classes but that's about the extent of it. It's boxing, the beauty of it many styles are effective. It's not sprinting or long distance running.

Nacho also thought Canelo would beat Floyd. JMM, however, after being in the ring with them both, says Mayweather will win. So does Oscar, Hatton, and Mosley. Abel Sanchez says Manny makes too many mistakes that Floyd will make him pay for. Buddy McGirt also says Mayweather will win, but it will be closer than if they fought a few years earlier.Ricky_ wrote:The thread for all Boxer/Coaches/Pundits/Commentators/Celebrity Predictions. Nacho Beristain: "Pacquiao beats him up".
“It’s a very good, important fight but that fight should not happen,” stated Beristain. “Because I believe Pacquiao will beat Mayweather. You’re gonna take away the glory that has made Mayweather these past years. Mayweather’s style – when he fights someone that pressures him and throws a lot of punches – he just beats him up.”
When asked if it would be an easy win for Pacquiao, Beristain answered: “It won’t be an easy fight but Pacquiao will win the fight. Pacquiao will definitely win.”

ok so now we have a list several former world champions and trainers of world champions and... er... you...Shpati wrote:8-4 Mayweather UD, maybe a judge doing a silly 6-6 to make it a MD for whatever reasons.
But I feel Mayweather will be more aggressive than we have seen recently and will KO Pacquiao in the round 10. Pacquiao will run into a straight right hand like his 3 KO defeats.

True. This thread is just part of the build up fun.IKSRTFO wrote:At the end of the day, even as a trainer, it's just their opinion. How many of them picked Tarver to KO Jones? Actually, in all three fights, Tarver seemed to just have Roy's number.

That's because for all the ish 50 talks he knows that Floyd is more intelligent and skillful in the ring and will win this easily, he reminds me of Wesley Snipes character in Passenger 57; "Always Bet On Black"koolkc107 wrote:Been ragging on Floyd for months, even calling Floyd scared to death...but when it is time to place a bet, it's Money?tiny_acres wrote:Well 50 cent just placed 1.6 million on Floyd.

I remember Hatton saying he always felt Pacquiao would beat Floyd until he watched Pac vs Mosley. Even though he won every round watching Mosley fustrate Pac by running made Hatton change his pick to Floyd.
