Hahaha, so true. I listened to it with my dad on the radio, I was practically in tears. My dad was so nonchalant with the outcome. But the radio was roaring every time Bruno breathed on tyson.

Ha, watching sport with your dad, great bonding stuff for any kid isn't it? I bet most of us one way or another got into some or most of our sporting loves through our dads

i think my dad feels exactly the same mate, as in his dad doing for him like he's been willing to do for me, i guess in some way your lad and i are beneficiaries of that, if you know what i mean.

The Hatton loses for me.

Jackson vs Graham, McDonnell vs McGuigan, Starling vs Honeyghan.

Possibly the McGuigan loss most as it meant there would be no Nelson vs McGuigan match.

Bruno vs Witherspoon and Bruno vs Tyson 2.

The first Bruno fight with Tyson, he acquitted himself really well, Harry Mullan said there was a chance of Bruno dying in the ring and that was said by a few commentators as well so for Bruno to go 5 rounds and land some nice shots on Tyson was a great outcome in retrospect. Witherspoon was a huge disappointment because I thought he was definitely going to win the fight on the physical state of Witherspoon - I had similar conversations with my dad who would bring up Bruce Woodcock losing to the good Americans like Mauriello and Baski.

Moore losing to Rhodes :-(

Hagler being robbed by the judges v Sugar Ray Leonard is the one for me. I loved both fighters but Marvin was my absolute hero. I'm still not really over it :(

I thought Hagler getting robbed against Antuofermo in 1979 was worse by far.

He clearly beat Vito & this was after years of being avoided & having to wait too long for a title shot in the first place.

Leonard -v- Hagler, however you saw it was a close fight & could have gone either way.

I know, but it still rankles, I thought he won tbh and will never be convinced otherwise.

Maurice Hope getting knocked out by Wilfredo Benitez was a bit of a gutter too, loved Maurice, he seemed a really good fella.

It took me a while to get over Rhodes v Matthews.

The first fight that I was really gutted about was Bruno-Witherspoon. Bruno and McGuigan got me into boxing and there was so much press about Big Frank then. When you're young these things mean so much.

I think it was Leonard-Duran II, although Ali's slide into poor health was not great to watch; however, Leonard didn't just beat Duran, he tamed a monster.
