It was an okay stoppage, big whoop.

You know there's a problem in boxing when fans are applauding people for doing the thing they are supposed to do.

I thought Foster was perceptive and stepped in exactly at the right time, he gets flak when he does it wrong - it should be balanced.

We should expect competent stoppages from referees. Foster did nothing special last night whatsoever.

I disagree, Foster had plenty of grief over the Groves stoppage and he did very well last night, as stoppages go it was neither a punch too soon or a punch too late.

Foster's stoppage in the Groves fight was an utter disgrace and he deserved abuse.

He stopped this fight at the correct time, but most people could have done the same. It's not impressive at all, it was merely sensible.

Got to agree with Sean and horse here,it was a good stoppage that's all that needs to be said. This should be par for the course everytime. Sorry

exactly right i put on my FB the positioning was perfect you went from not noticing howard was there to having the fighter safely wrapped in his arms before one extra punch was thrown or needed

The praise is disproportionate because it's only in relation to how badly he has screwed up before.

As a star referee you are expected to do the job correctly. personally i would not have minded seeing Avalaos take a few more, as he was a lairy, mouthy gobshite.

Howard is a World class referee. He is also genuinely good bloke.
And a great bloke to have a few pints with.
