Even if it's in Vegas, I could see thousands of Froch fans/Forest lads going out there and making it like a home fight. Ward has no fans anyway and Froch fans would cheer every last bit of success he has which always has a chance of swaying the judges slightly. Plus there would be 2 major questions over Ward being can he handle the hostile atmosphere and has he slowed after his long lay-off. Ward would be odds-on favourite and rightly so, but you can't write Carl Froch off.

I think Ward UD's Froch again. But I think it would be a lot closer. Carl was really jaded by the time he got to the super six finale, whereas Ward was fresh and had a few gimme's in his back yard.

If it's in the UK, maybe the City ground, then I'd certainly not rule Carl out of beating Ward - but would still have him the underdog.

Truth be told, Ward is utterly boring to watch. I'd rather see Froch Groves III any day of the week as there would be more chance of drama.
Ward fought Kessler, Green and Abraham, Dirrell pulled out so he fought Bika instead in a fight outside the tournament. Froch fought Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham and Johnson. Very little difference in opponents there and neither had fought for 6 months before the fight, if Froch was tired, Ward must have been too, or Froch didn't train properly, which would be very unusual for him.
Funnily enough, his perpetration wasn't great for Kessler 1 or Groves 1, either. But he's too much of a proud warrior to make excuses.

Ward eased past Froch with one good hand. Carl will never fathom Ward's style, who has the fitness and strength to back it up.

Challenging either Kovalev, or taking a challenge from GGG would be an amazing way to conclude his career. Kovalev is the man at light heavy, GGG's the man at middleweight. Both are unbeaten and at the top of their games and are the names on boxing fan's lips.

These are the two fresh challenges that would spark HUGE interest for a Froch swan-song.

Of those two, I'd say GGG is the better bet, Kovalev looks to be tough as well as a murderous puncher, and is a bigger man, big risk for Carl.

GGG is the naturally smaller man, and is nowhere near as experienced. I'd favour Carl to win that one - but could be brutal even if he wins.

Froch has more chance against GGG simply down to size. He has zero chance against Kovelev. Froch is made for Kovalev, Kovalev would hurt Froch pretty badly.

Yeah, I agree, the only question mark over Kovalev was whether he took a punch, but he answered that against Pascal and barely flinched.

I thought that was an awesome performance by Kovalev. Pascal is a bloody good fighter and Kovalev just bullied him. The only time he looked less than perfect was when chasing the K.O.. When he stopped forcing the issue and boxed he did to Pascal what no-one ever has.

If there's one fighter that Froch needs to avoid its Krusher. Froch has limited defence, limited movement and likes to trade - it'd be a disaster for him.

He reacted to a lot of those punches. I'm not convinced he has a rock solid jaw.

I don't think Pascal punches as hard as Froch.

Ha ha.

Hmmm, i'm thinking Rigo should be out of the top five and I genuinely think Frampton will beat him. But until that happens and / or as things stand I'll stand by that list .

I'd say that Golovkin at 1 and having Thurman and Froch on the list is a lot worse than having Rigo in the top 5.

I'm not comfortable with Froch either to be fair. Golovkin at 1, maybe but I don't think he's a solid number 1, if Kovalev beat Froch and Stevenson he could easily take over at top spot. I can't have Mayweather and Pacquiao at 1 and 2 now, not on current day standings.

Thurman - Can't quite understand the negativity towards him, he'a more solid top ten fighter than Tim Bradley (for example) surely?

Mayweather has proved himself the number 1 over the past decade or so, Golovkin hasn't really done anything to prove himself at that level, doesn't help that the top fighters don't really want to fight him, but I don't think beating Matthew Macklin, Daniel Geale and Martin Murray should make anyone the number 1 P4P fighter in the world.

Bradley's head and shoulders above Thurman, very underrated fighter IMO. I find it telling how everyone Thurman has fought is the sort of fighter that will come to and stand in front of him, put him in with someone that moves and makes him think and he'll struggle for me, more of an athlete than a boxer.

Ok mate, opinions and all that.

I judge on, if everyone was same size, would Mayweather beat Golovkin NOW??? I don't think he would but each to his own.

Resume is fine but it only goes so far when judging in the here and now doesn't it?

Same size I think Mayweather would take it on points, harder fight for him than it would have been in the past but I think his defence is tight enough to keep Golovkin out and he can get enough of his own punches off to nick the rounds. If he tried to go up to middleweight or a catchweight to fight Golovkin he'd get obliterated though.

Froch is a consensus top 10 P4P fighter. There's nothing wrong with him being on his list.

I'd say the consensus is wrong then, he's not top 10 P4P, never has been, never will be IMO.

One question I will ask is if Froch is top 10 where the hell would Calzaghe have been? he wouldn't have lost a round against Froch, he would've boxed his head off and i'll take that to my grave. Most under-rated fighter of the last 40 years IMO and i sincerely mean that.

He was rated at about 3rd at his peak.

Calzaghe should have fought him then. If Hopkins and Kessler could win rounds against Calzaghe then I don't see why Froch couldn't.

Calzaghe's overrated if anything.

Yeah I would pick Calzaghe to beat Froch but I think it would be a reasonably competitive fight.

Wouldn't even be close. Froch is too slow, too static, would not win a round.

Calzaghe got knocked down by a washed up Roy Jones Jr. Froch would be very likely to win at least one round.

Calzaghe whitewashed Lacy, he never did it to a fighter of Froch's calibre.
