Davie never answered calls or texts regarding the fight, I feel totally embarrassed regarding the whole episode, Ricky Pow got stopped in the 4th last night by a 3 fight novice

Biggest lot of shite I've ever heard in my life that's laughable so it is , Nelson you know fine well u have fucked davie over big time and are also trying to cover your own arse , you took a fight for Davie at 2 days notice & wanted him to loose nearly half a stone in 2 days , are you for real ? I trained with Davie every day and he never eat a thing for them 2 days since he found out plus ran for miles with sweat suits and in the saunas for ages to try make weight at such a very short notice , all the boy wants to do is fight and do good in his career, but people like yourself only think about yourself at end the day , Davie is nicest guy in the world and has got doe mega bad luck , just wish people would give this humble gentleman a brake and help him get the fights he needs , this boy was heavyweight champion of Scotland in amateurs , surly with the right promoter or coach he would go right back to the top again with the right guidance , I've trained for eyes with Davie this boy is one hell of a machine in that ring , blows people away in that ring , and even more so , he would be Scotland's humble champ , the peoples champ , so please stop all this nonsense about Davie not answering his calls or txts cuz that's total bullshit , he couldn't get down to the weight required in 2 days notice & u took massive huff with Davie Nelson and told him he's fornicating u about ect and called fight off , now Davie back to square one getting pissed about by people who only care about themselfs !
Absolute joke the way this boxing son of Scotland has wen treated since he turned pro , really wish someone helps this boy cuz he deserves it more than anything & I think this whole country would agree , top guy , harmless out the ring , deadly in the ring , respect to Lochee Scotland's champ , Davie Drummond , give him few weeks notice for a fight and he will be ready on weight , 2 days notice to loose nearly half stone

But then same night refused to go to a show because couldnt get half a stone off to make 12.3
Im not a mathmatician but something doesnt make sense there

I dont have to add anything really
As far as I'm aware Davie was sitting at 12-9 on Tuesday and hadnt eaten since day before breakfast and billy was expecting him to get to 12-3 for Thursday, people need to remember the Pow fight was postponed over a week before so Davie didn't know he was fighting until the last Friday when the Robinson fight was arranged
As for Davie pulling out the fight with Pow for refusing to fight at 12-12,I hadn't heard that before but I do know Davie never pulled out that fight originally

And he made his debut weighing 12st 12, against a fighter that weighed in at 13st.

Davie's been made a scapegoat for sure,Billy says himself that Davie never pulled out against Pow,I don't know why Carl would tell Sanigar that Davie withdrew through personal problems but that's another matter,as far as I'm aware Davie and Carl are no longer together and Billy was taking over which led to the Robinson fight getting made last Friday I think,
One thing I do know is that Davie is sick of it all and is losing heart with pro game

Totally agree with you handsofstone , it's just an absolute disgrace the way Davie Drummond is getting made to be a scapegoat in these situations , he was ready to fight pow , anytime any place , he fight anyone weights above him if he had to , but he just couldn't lose all that in 2 days notice for the Robinson fight , definitely very hard thing to do , plus dangerous come fight night as be drained no energy levels for sure . All the best to Davie Drummond , true gentleman , absolute sin to the sport so it is , really hope good coach/promoter takes control of Davies career and wins titles with him again , pro game is missing this Scottish gem .

I've spoke to Dave today and I think you should speak to him for the truth mate, Dave is a top guy but his friends on here are just jumping the gun a little and looking for someone to blame, absolutely no blame lies at my feet.

We are not looking for someone to blame ,
We are looking for someone to help this true gentleman & warrior make his name .
We all really thought you would be the guy to do that billy you are good with the Scottish fighters and any fighter in general , I personally know our community was over the moon & so happy that you had took on Davie to help his career as he's the bet guy in world , it's just a sin to see the boy get put down time & time again
Can the boxing world please stop the nonsece and just let this boy fight at his weight with enough time to make weight , please sort this out coaches promoters , great loss to the sport , time will tell , billy you & Davie could do great things together what a shame to waste that if that was the case . Sad times for Scottish boxing . True gentleman lost from the sport before his career even bagan really , devastating for the boy . Humblest guy ever .

This x2
Obviously Billy only you and Davie know what happened exactly,I don't know if theirs been some sort of misunderstanding with weight,I only know the jist of the story,I haven't spoke to Davie face to face but I do know 1 minute he was over the moon to be working with you,the next minute the fight is off due to Davie being unable to shift the last 6lbs
I do hope the both of you can work things out because you both can bring success to one another ,all this bother with the Pow fight falling through then Robinson is hardly ideal, is making SMW too much of an ask at short notice?maybe LHW would suit,

I don't know what the fuss is about ?? Drummond hasn't fought in over 18 months and he's only had 2 fights. The first was against a guy whose lost his last 15, and to be honest is murder to watch, and the second was a tougher lad with whom he drew, and he'd won 2 of his last 20 !!!
A young lad like Drummond shouldn't be worrying too much about weights. His only concern should be fighting every other week against anybody, anywhere. The biggest problem managers have is getting their boys to agree to a fight. There's always some type of excuse. The truth usually is that the trainer knows the boxer hasn't been training and has been hitting the bevvy. I'm not suggesting that this is the case with Drummond, I wouldn't know that, but in the good old days professional boxers trained every night, and hoped beyond hope that somebody somewhere would pick up the phone and contact their manager. They never had the luxury of getting 2 weeks or so to prepare, so they were ALWAYS fit. It was a case of the trainer and the boxer getting a couple of days off their work , travelling a few hundred miles, sleeping in a motorway service station, and fighting the next day.
A lot of modern day boxers ( I use the term boxers and NOT fighters, deliberately) are surrounded by family and friends who tell them they're world beaters without any justification.

Davie is not a young laddie he's 33, shifting weight at that age is very difficult due to the ways in which the body develops through age, not gonna judge as fully respect billy as a trainer but for me should not be pushing that kinda weight loss, Davie is a gentle giant, a very nice man and a very good boxer, Lochee Rebel I think was clearly emotional and doesn't seem to understand the role that Davie had accepted in pro boxing for short notice asay fights, in which could have confused billy, as a journeyman you have to be in shape and be ready to lose pounds on short notice, I sdded kris laight on facebook and the weight he cuts is scary, not a good thing for later life with dramatic cuts but hey it's his sacrifice and could be worse as his body is in quote good condition! I hope Davie can bounce back, all these mix ups can't be helping him mentally, we need him back in the ring, doing what he loves and put all this behind him!

jamie just to clear this up once and for all, I was offered the fight Monday morning at 12st 3lbs when I offered the fighter the fight he agreed and informed me he was 12st 5lbs at the time, I'm not a mathamatition but that works out there's only 2lbs in 5 days to remove if he was 7or 8lbs over I wouldn't have offered the fight

Chris Eubank did 19lbs in 4 days once, 2lbs in 5 days like Billy says shouldn't have been a problem, 6-7lbs in a couple of days is the other claim, harder, but it's possible to take that sort of weight off if done properly.

Getting a bit silly now.. End of the day fighters should not be dropping any more than a few pounds in the last few days before fight night. So many fighters come in weight drained it's crazy. Especially on same day weigh ins. Billy I don't know the situation but I know you sometimes get a bit carried away with things and don't think what you say and do clearly. Contrary to what people might think on here I respect you as a trainer and actually find some the stuff you say funny. Your like the contradiction king. My opinion is you should stick to coaching and stop trying to match fighters it always seems to get you burned. I know deep down you probably have good intentions but they never seem to work out. As for Davie he just needs fights. Whether it's pro boxing or elsewhere. He has a lot of ability but needs to be active. As everyone says he's a nice guy just gets on with everything. Boxing seems to be the wrong place for nice guys

Billy hence why I said I'm not gonna judge as don't believe you would do that, too smar for that, I'm not sure what's happening with Davie but he'll bounce back, think that he just needs to have a sit down and evaluate what he's wantinf to do, don't waste yourself going white collar, a lot better than that,

There is more opportunities than ever for fighters to earn good money on the road it is not an easy job but real road lads keep themselves in top shape at all times ready for the phone call this can only be done by either training every night or fighting as I said the earning potential today is better than ever you don't get three weeks notification for a fight in this game have you noticed the proliferation of foreign boxers coming over because there is not enough british boxers in shape at all times in the past promotors would just phone nobby nobbs for a late replacement knowing full well that all of nobbys lads would be in shape and would travel at the drop of a hat if davie is serious about the game he needs to be in shape at all times or get out of the game IMO

Davie told me over a year ago,he was gonna fight at SMW as he could do the weight comfortably but this was when he was with Gilmour and when he should've had a full camp but seeing as he's not with Tommy anymore and he's planning on being the away fighter and being a fighter who could step in at late notice, maybe Davie will think about campaigning at LHW so this kinda thing won't happen again

And vice versa according to Davie, its a shame how things turned out,I hope things can be resolved,Scottish pro boxing is having a bit of a lull just now as far as getting our talent good fights ,boxers, trainers, managers and promoters all need to be pulling in the same direction
