Agreed fella.danamba7 wrote:The best thing to do would be to wail till any official announcements are made and then take it from there. It shouldn't be PPV, but moaning before a decision is even made is just a waste of energy!
Honest could not agree more.keirw wrote:They are good little fights, the kind that should make up all Saturday fight night undercards.Naandrew wrote:They are good domestic fights actually.keirw wrote:Tyler Goodjohn vs Tommy Martin and John Wayne Hibbert vs Darren Hamilton.
BOOM! There's your PPV undercard right there, get your wallets out!
Obviously not saying they make this PPV.
But the cynic in me does worry that this potentially great Saturday fight night card will be turned into a joke of a PPV out of pure greed.
And worse, the good domestic scraps get taken off the card in favour of Groves or Haye (if he shows up) vs some nobody, in an attempt to drive up PPV buys.
I can't see them making Campbell-Coyle PPV, the last show had 52,000 watching on Sky.palooka wrote:There has to be some sanity reintroduced to the PPV situation. Floyd v Manny is PPV worthy, it is a major event and a must see for a fan. Stacking a card so there's 5 or 6 hours of so so fights is not PPV. I imagined that the Campbell v Coyle but would be on May 2nd and there'd be a hefty PPV charge to see both on SKY. I've no hope that Box Ration will get the big fight, I'm not paying for Coyle v Campbell, it's a miss match.
Yes the fight alone isn't but with a 'stacked' card featuring 'big' names in fights where they are at least 1/10 to win seems sufficient for sky now. Wonder how many watched Bellew and Clev in those tick over fights in Liverpool ?expe wrote:I can't see them making Campbell-Coyle PPV, the last show had 52,000 watching on Sky.palooka wrote:There has to be some sanity reintroduced to the PPV situation. Now I'd pay to see that.....palooka wrote:I'm proud to say that I didn't buckle and buy the Bellew/Cleverley PPV and I will not shell out for the Hull show - the Floyd bout is the only one I'll buy this year unless Golovkin gets Cotton or Kovalev gets Adonis - the heavyweights can bollocks.
Don't buy the ppv and if you're not happy with sky sports as a whole package either then drop it too.chad wrote:Eddies card is certainly heading towards PPV. Eddie not ruling it out when asked by Kugan.

Looks like SKY Sports subscribers are set to get a major shafting in May. Only one domestic card confirmed on SKY Sports in that month being Chris van Heerden Vs. Frankie Gavin.
I can't believe there might be 2 PPV events within 28 days of each other.
Pure greed
Ive read half a dozen people asking can they buy the mayweather fight, despite cancelling last November.freddydoesdallas wrote:

The Kevin Mitchell fight is decent enough, but not sure it's PPV worthy. Even if Hearn loads the card with domestic names.chad wrote: Today Eddie has announced his 30th May "Super Show" at the O2 featuring Kevin Mitchell vs. Jorge Linares, Evgeny Gradovich vs. Lee Selby and Anthony Joshua Vs. Kevin Johnson. Eddie has been sending a lot of Tweets today about the show including:
"We are bringing something very special to @theo2 arena on May 30th!!!!"
That is pretty much the only way to get the message across to SKY. Problem is the Eddie Hearn fanboys will undoubtedly buy into the hype thinking the card is incredibly stacked and well worth £20.00 on top of their usual subscription. "Shows like these need to be PPV and can't happend on SKY Sports" etc... Gullibility keeping the PPV model alive and well on SKY. Sad stuff.freddydoesdallas wrote:Don't buy the ppv and if you're not happy with sky sports as a whole package either then drop it too.chad wrote:Eddies card is certainly heading towards PPV. I'm not sure Hearn gives a rat's ass about the fans. Of course this will be PPV.chad wrote:The way Eddie is going on, he's not finished yet:jameswilson wrote:Unless there's another World title fight on that O2 show I don't think it's going to be PPV. While it may have been expensive in relative terms to get Gradovich and Linares over we're not talking the millions of pounds purses that usually go with a PPV. Had it been DeGale v Dirrell and Selby v Gradovich on that original O2 card then PPV wouldn't have surprised me because obviously Matchroom bid over a million quid for the fight, and Eddie is all about balancing the books. I can't imagine Mitchell v Linares earning a combined amount of anywhere near 2million dollars. In fact if the combined purse of both guys is over a million dollars I'd be aghast.
“This is a huge night for British boxing and today’s announcement is just the beginning,” said Hearn. “I’m delighted to deliver shots for Kevin and Lee in the UK and they have every chance of becoming World champions on May 30. Linares is an incredible fighter, a three-weight World ruler, but Kevin has been exceptional with us and I truly believe he is going to do it. Lee has been virtually punch-perfect over the last few years but now it’s his moment against one of the best fighters in the division in Gradovich. Kevin is a big step for Anthony Joshua and signifies his first real challenge in the pro ranks, he brings personality and attitude as well as plenty of ring craft – I’m buzzing for this show already and fans can expect plenty of other major announcements for the card.”
The only time I hear Eddie speaking like this is when he's about to drop the PPV bombshell. Would love to see this on SKY Sports, and if that is the case then massive credit to both Eddie and SKY for giving loyal subscribers a top night of action at no additional cost.
I didn't buy Bellew vs Cleverley either.palooka wrote:I'm proud to say that I didn't buckle and buy the Bellew/Cleverley PPV and I will not shell out for the Hull show - the Floyd bout is the only one I'll buy this year unless Golovkin gets Cotton or Kovalev gets Adonis - the heavyweights can bollocks.
And it's frustrating because he could be providing us with some top class Saturday fight night's instead of putting the best cards he produces as PPV. I really hope ITV get the Quigg Frampton fight if made, that fight could be huge on terrestrial tele and open the door for more great nights of boxing that everyone can tune in to.stujones wrote:Eddie went on record after Clev vs Bellew to state that UK only PPV's is not the correct model for PPV's.... so it will be interesting to see if he backs down on his words again..... remembering the only PPV's involving British fighters is Brook/Khan/Hatton combination and some mega fights involving Carl Froch. No other British fighter is pay per view able.
