There was no failed drug test. Nothing was reported by the media and Chris Arreola competed twice more within a seven month period after the Friday Ahunanya bout.
Why do you think Dan Rafael, whom you've repeatedly cited as a credible source, stated that it was a failed drug test?

As Reggie notes, his next bout was his first only outside the US (which would be logical if something prevented him from fighting in the US as he's done every other time) and he didn't fight again in the US until 7 months after facing Ahunanya (thus outside any 6 month suspension period).

I’m not disagreeing with you. You could be right for all I know, but it’s pretty important to note that there are no articles whatsoever reporting any failed drug test, which includes anything from ESPN or Dan Rafael.

That’s why I won’t accuse nor assume a boxer of being a drug cheat when there doesn’t appear to be any evidence of any wrongdoing.

If you’re confident, then show me the proof. Like I said, you could be right, but I don’t jump to conclusions based on someone’s fuzzy recollection of events.
Like you I don't have proof and I never claimed with certainty that Arreola failed a drug test.

I'm not sure if there's any basis for you to think that Rafael's recollection is fuzzy if that's who you're referring to, and he seems very matter of fact with his response to the question he was asked on Twitter https://twitter.com/danrafaelespn/statu ... 0900210688:
"Dan, do you know why fight fax changed Arreola-Ahunanya to a NC?"

"failed drug test"
It seems odd that there were no articles about the bout being changed to a NC, but that stands regardless of the reason for the change.

lol. Thats a very diplomatic way of saying he failed a drug test. And this is why government groups kinda suck. Always gotta give you a verbal masturabating type of answer vs giving you a precise, simple & to the point answer.

You think so? If that's the case, are they worried about being sued if they just come out and say it?

Anyway, my guess is marijuana.

LOL yea I think thats a good bet. My money is on weed too. Daddy needs new shoes, cmon weed!!!

And idk about why they wouldn't just out & say it. I mean why not just out & say it whatever it is, so that was just a weird interaction in that way. I think it might just be that standard vague gotta ask them question after question to pinpoint a stance "government speak" type line thats being taken idk. I guess you could message them again & ask them what NJ rule he violated exactly if you haven't already.

Well, since they pretty much said in their response not to bother them anymore and to contact Arreola for any further information, I think I'll just leave it as is. If it were steroids we would have heard about it, and Chris would have been in better shape for the fight. Pot = munchies so the circumstantial evidence is pretty strong in this case.

Well...not necessarily. Lets not forgot James Toney on steroids.

I'm betting on weed too, but steroids aren't out of the question. Steroids aren't the miracle superpower drug people think they are. I got James Toney's & Chris Arreola's fat genes out performing steroids all day.
