The wbo are the extent of fwank's ambition these days. Butler got the IBF belt because fwank worked with Hobson and hobsons fighter happened to hold the IBF title. I doubt we'll see a fwank fighter ever challenge for a Wbc, IBF or WBA (proper, not Eubanks title) on the channel. I just don't think the money is there...

Butler fought for the IBF a few weeks ago, Derry fights for the WBA in less than 2 weeks. No difference in cost between any of them.

Saying Matchroom didn't back DeGale is nonsensical. They put in a very big bid, it just got blown out the water by what everyone acknowledges is a whopper. An almost identical situation is coming up with Quillin v Saunders. If Queensbury bid 2nillion dollars only for someone else to come in with a bigger one I wouldn't say 'oh they didn't back their man.' The endless stepping aside is getting tiresome tho and I can possibly see Terry Flanagan going on the same run as Saunders of getting pats on the back for stepping aside again and again. Queensbury said Flanagan would get a shot at the vacant belt, well that ain't happening now.

Also the criticism of some of the guys being sent abroad to lose is unjust. Gavin Rees may well not have got hundreds upon hundreds of thousands but he was never going to earn more elsewhere was he? It's a pretty much identical situation to Gary Lockett being sent abroad, and Enzo vs Braehmer. You do make a good point on Barker v Geale tho.
