Yes, Lucas showed a solid chin too and recovered quickly when he was buzzed. I don't think he was hurt against Garcia despite the KD and I think it's clear that he's durable.
There are the freaks though that are just indestructible. I wouldn't put Matthysse's chin in quite that league.
I agree. Provo seems to fall into that category though.

Lucas is as durable as they come he must be after walking through some of those Ruslan bombs.

It wasn't easy work at all. He had to work hard throughout, especially over the second half, and he was rocked multiple times.

A clear win in my opinion (though I've seen several 114-114 cards) but competitive and far from easy.

Matthysse controlled the fight the whole way and was never in danger of losing. The judges score cards were closer than the fight imo. 8-4 maybe 7-5.

I had Matthysse by three rounds but a a clear three rounds if that makes sense. Comfortable, clear cut victory.

Clear victory for Matthysse but Provodnikov proved the bigger beast.

Provodnikov reminds me a bit of a 140lbs George Chavalo: big block or a head, stocky and powerfully built. Hopefully Ruslan comes through his tough career as remarkably undamaged as Chavalo seems to have.

Provo is so fun to watch.I really fear for his long term safety.
I can see him as future brain damaged fighter.I hope I am wrong.
He seems like a good guy.

Provo was very classy in the post-fight press-conference accepting that Lucas was a better man yesterday and wishing him the best.

Like I said.I think he seems like a good guy.I don't want nothing bad to happen to him.
Now or in the long run.But his style of fighting. As pleasing as it is.Is a recipe for disaster in the long run.

You would have thought working with Roach would have polished Provodnikov at least a little but he has no regard of what's coming at him whatsoever ,its fun to watch but I thought last night was the worst beatdown of Ruslan's career and frankly I'm baffled professional judges had it so close, infact I'm not baffled

He clearly thinks that HBO and majority of fans expect him to fight this way. Not sure if he could change it much anyway.

If it were a street fight then you could say that Matthysse clearly won but it's not a street fight. Boxing comes down to whomever wins most of the twelve 3 minute contests. Judges don't have punch stat totals on the fight nor should they. Matthysse clearly landed more punches overall but most of that was done over 4-5 rounds. I had the fight scored the draw both times watching the fight so i think that the scores were right on.

Under the rules of boxing, this was a tight fight. In public opinion though, I have to agree that Matthysse was the far better fighter and clearly outclassed Provodnikov regardless which way judges went wtih the decision.

I'll say it if no one else wants to, this fight clearly didn't live up to expectations and was just a good fight. Sure there was blood but it was from a butt. No one hit the canvas or got hurt. No need for a rematch in this one.

I'm hoping he's made some good money and has a plan for after boxing, because I'm not sure I'd like to see him carry on much longer either.

He posted on Instagram about this being the second time his piss had come out black for the the post-fight drug test (the first being after Bradley) and then 'I hope everyone saw what they expected from this fight'.

If you think 7-5 may be feasible then you think it could be scored fairly closely. Considering that and the facts that Lucas was rocked several times, consistently had to fight at a high-pace to keep Ruslan off him, was taken 12 rounds for the first time in any of his wins, and clearly showed signs of tiring down the stretch, I think it's laughable to say that he had an easy time, but hey, it anything to make your prediction of a cakewalk less ridiculous, right?

Again, a clear and well-deserved win for Lucas, but it's a big stretch to say that he had an easy time.

i think after both fights, when all the hype is gone, most of us will say "this fight between provodnikov against matthysse was the real big one, not the lopsided boring UD of floyd!"
So let me get this straight, if Floyd fights Manny the way Manny fought Rios then you consider that "running"??

I don't understand people on this forum who claim to be boxing fans, you guys say you love BOXING but realistically you love fighting, there is a difference.

You want Floyd to stand toe to toe and not use his legs for defense, you want him to stand and trade and then you call that "BOXING"??

People like you are not real BOXING fans, you are no more than a high action junkie who is looking for a Gatti-esque brawl!! Maybe you should watch BKB or the UFC so you can get your fix because you don't appreciate this sport of BOXING (the art of hitting without being hit).

Floyd is a true Practitioner of this sport, he personifies the art..................it's just too bad guys like you don't know the difference between a Boxer and a Brawler.

pac was running against rios, boring fight, i tread everybody the same.

you can be defensive minded, still aggressiv and action packed. floyd was defensive and rarely punched against diego or gatti, but he also was aggressiv and tried to finish shi&/(t. thats how you should box.

also, you are wrong, there is no true meaning to what exactly boxing is. hit not get hit, sweet science, brawling, everything is boxing. there is no explanation what boxing is, its basicly 2 man get into a ring with gloves and punch each other, thats boxing.

Well what you call running, I call boxing. Manny was outboxing Rios, some people think that a fighter has to or should sit there and trade in order to prove something to his fans or to the boxing public that he has machismo in order to call himself a boxer. I don't think any fighter should sit there and risk taking punishment just for the sake of entertaining you or anyone else, they have families and careers after boxing.

So why should they risk that for you?? What makes you so special that you get to decide how a fighter should fight purely for your entertainment enjoyment?

It's called being smart, no fighter should allow himself to be hit if he can avoid it.

I think 115-113 is a feasible card but that it's as generous as one can be to Provo. I had it 116-112, with Provo winning rounds 4, 8, 11, and 12 . . although I could see someone scoring 8 for Lucas as he controlled the whole round save the last 15 seconds. I thought giving Prov 3 and 10 like Letterman did for Provo landing a couple of hard punches and eating punches the rest of the round was pretty bad judging.

Hbo's dickriding was horrible last night they were clearly pushing for Ruslan.

Ledermans card was just funny to me let alone any idiot who had Ruslan winning.

Lucas whooped that ass easier than any of Ruslans previous 3 losses.

Intresting.

He had nothing but high praises for Somodio before the fight going as far as say that he believes he will be trainer of the year one day.
