I watched both Chris Eubank-Nigel Benn fights again,I've got the first fight on DVD so obviously I've seen it a few times but I watched the rematch for the first time since watching it live back in 1993 when I just turned 9,wasn't a great fight and nowhere near as exciting as my Dad made out when watching it back then

Also watched the 4 Ezzard Charles-Jersey Joe Walcott fights,Jersey Joe's KO of Ezzard in the 3rd fight was as clinical as you'll see

Have you seen Don Curry v Colin Jones, stone hands? If clinical is to you're liking...

Leonard -v- Benitez.

Hearns -v- Roldan.

Barkley -v- Hearns 1.

Moorer -v- Cooper.

I haven't mate no but I will,I've heard of Jones but don't know much about him other than the fact that he's Welsh,before my time, I had a look at his record and he seemed a great fighter,its a pity he came up against Curry,he pushed McCrory hard twice I noticed

Watched Holligan v Chavez again. I was a big fan of Andy and he had a heck of a career; even post Chavez he had some good wins.

Going to Mexico to fight Chavez was as brave as you like and the weird thing I had forgotten is that Andy gets a pretty decent start.....clumps Chavez with some solid shots early on and although JC hardly blinks I think he realised that it was time to get busy. Of course, when Chavez does select a gear he suddenly starts getting through often and hard....the shots make you wince.

Top stuff by Holligan...went out there and tried to make something happen; I'll take it too him and if I go down then so be it.

I remember reading a Holligan interview and he said he realised in the first round he wasn't going to win; he said Chavez hit him with a perfect placed body shot, harder than anything he'd taken in all his years of boxing and sparring. Even feeling that way, he gave it everything.

Agreed, Andy was super brave that night and all Chavez's punches were sickeners.
Holligan, Tony E, Ross Hale and Neary all kept the division nicely ticking over between the Marsh and Hatton world title eras I thought.

Yup....Ryan was a dangerous man for a while. There's got to be a great British Super Six light-welter tournament out there isn't there. Hale, Holligan, Neary, Hatton, Marsh and Witter. Ryan and Magee as first reserves.

That'd be good, I'd put Jason Rowland in the mix too - he was very good.

I started watching Zarate v Davilla today, will finish tomorrow.

Been a bit nostalgic this afternoon and decided to see what I could find on Dave Boy McAuley....I am generally not a fan of the little guys but McAuley was someone I always followed as a boxing mad kid through the newspapers and on the TV. He had a great back story that he was a professional chef which the tabloids absolutely loved as if it gave them a punny headline and he never messed about in the ring either.

The classic Bassa fights are out there and definitely stand the test time but sadly I struggled to find much more than a few edited clips of Dave's biggest night....when he beat the much-fancied Duke Mckenzie in London in what was considered to be his last throw of the dice. I'd also clean forgotten that Dave actually put a tidy string of defences together after dethroning Duke including a win over Baby Jake Matlala.

One of those decent, bona fide British world champs who tends to get overlooked I think.

Recently watched all Tyson's fights in order up until about the time he won the world title. It didn't take long.
