Echo the sentiments of many in this thread; they gotta make money somehow. I mean it's not hard to skip 10 seconds in a video if the ads bother you that much. Geez....

The Cassius and Helder show is getting better. I wasn't sure at first, but watch it everyweek on allegedly.

The interview with Buglioni & Markhamwas good. Cassius kept it controlled (thankfully) but the competetive tension was there for all to see.

Must admit I'm not a massive fan of them...

Each to their own though....any exposure is good I guess

Kugan's style is certainly unique. An expert would probably say he's a shite interviewer but he gets the fighters relaxed and we get to see their true personalities. E.g. a lot of people seem to think Degale is a prick but in his IFL interviews he comes across genuine and quite funny.

It's a shame that DeGale was such a dick before the Groves bout, I imagine he's alright and he is a very good fighter.

Agree. Groves does have that ability to bring out the worst in his opponents pre-fight though as he did with Froch as well as Degale.

Degale's problem was that he made a lot of enemies when he made his debut, the Groves fight solidified that impression. Really warming to him now a days though

That's a bit like the editor of Pravda telling the Russian people that they ought to be grateful to be getting any news - even if it happens to be on the slightly biased side (ok, it is not like that really ....)

The quality is getting much worse now though. Some of the vids from vegas you can't see the subject because the camera hasn't been white balanced, something so quick and easy to do and the sound is generally poor. Some stuff is good like the Hearn stuff but anything from May Pac you can get 10x the quality on fight hub.

There is very little technical skill going into it just stick a camera in front of a few people ask a few generic questions and upload, thats why I don't bother watching their vegas build up stuff because its done to death by every video reporter out there. Having said that there more in depth stuff with Hearn, Haye etc is really very good and they should focus their energies and time one that.

I think we have an awful lot to thank them for.
They are up and down the country and transatlantic working their way in gaining people's trust and bringing real insight from big names.
I bet it's not been easy and they champion prospects and people like Keiran Fallon which I find some of the best interviews.
They have made buying boxing news even more redundant but Sky's app has had a big hand in that.
Do what you love for work and never work a day of your life.
Good luck to em

I've watched a lot of their Vegas video's, i think they are doing a good job out there. Its great seeing the likes of Hopkins, Ward, Lewis, Arum etc on the channel. They seem to get a bit of stick over the quality of their questioning but i think they do great in that department, it cant be easy when you rarely know who you will be interviewing. I dont subscribe to any other video bloggers channels, i'd much prefer to watch IFLTV than the skreetching Seckbach or airhead Phelps.

Can't see how it the sponsorship is at the expense of content, without the money the sponsorship brings in they wouldn't be going over to Vegas and getting interviews with legends of the sport like Hopkins and Marquez.

Sometimes you simply have to be realistic, this is a toss up between having the adverts on and bringing us content, or you know, not. Which would you prefer?

I think Kuggan is a likeable idiot who has no real skill, training or knowledge to conduct meaningful interviews and as someone said it is just pointing a camera at media savvy guys who always have something to say about a subject they are all experts in so the subjects easily have things to talk about. Imagine someone pointed a camera at you right now and asked you about the Pac May fight. You have knowledge and love the sport so could stand and talk the same stuff as the guys he interviews easily, but he does not have the skill or knowhow to get anything extra out of them. Nearly anyone with a camera could do the same job. Someone skilled could do a much better job.

HOWEVER they do get access to great people who are fascinating to listen to and record stuff that we never used to see before - press conferences, weigh in footage, dressing room chatter, gym interviews and basically a ton of stuff that we never used to see.

I remember the days when we used to have no internet and just read a few bits in a few newspapers. Interviews or stuff taken from a press conference and turned into an article and then we would wait until ITV started a one hour show and then we were done when it was finished. Then all we had was the next days newspapers to read reports.

So I love their stuff even though I often feel frustrated that he should stop the interviewee and ask them to clarify or he should pick up on the utter shit the likes of Hearn says. Too often he lets Eddie talk and say something clearly false and does not pick him up on it.

Lots of irony to be found in you skipping to the Eddie Hearn interviews to avoid advertisements.

Can't believe people would moan at a short advert or 2 for what is essentially free content. I think the exposure they give the sport and the fighters is huge in terms of commercial benefit to the fighters and boxing. In fairness, very early on Eddie was shrewd enough to understand that and now Mr W seems to be embracing them also.

I think a lot of us would love to have their job, I am a little jealous of them and would love to do what they do!

If they decide to charge for their content eventually good luck to them, they've clearly built up respect and relationships and they are not a charity.

For the record, I do appreciate their videos, I just think they could with a bit less 'banter'.

Agree but also educate himself a little on the sport to give himself the ability to feedback better, ask more relevant and telling questions and pick up on when they are evading or talking shite.

Ha ha, you got me there.

Clearly the net result from IFL is an increase in free content and they have interviewed just about every British fighter you could name. Without these guys we wouldn't get so much insight into boxers such as Fury and Joshua. Plus James Helder's interviews with Peter Fury are always good.

If you're interested in a YouTube channel that's on the rise, I heartily recommend BoxTalk. Amongst their content is their regular Sunday video This Week In Boxing. An excellent round up of all the recent fights and rumours from two hardcore boxing fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QSOE7YaIUk

It's easy to say they need to ask tougher questions and not let boxers/promoters/trainers dodge out of answering questions but they will find less and less people willing to talk to them if they are going to give them a real grilling.

I think at the moment they have the right balance.
