According to Neil Davey it's a " sensational shot " at a world title.
" Undeserved " would be a better word.
Parker, Wilder, it doesn't really matter.
Either one smashes de Mori out of the boxing game.

Dont be surprised if it does - Stivern, Molina & De Mori all King fighters. hayman and King in bed together with some sort of agreement. Good luck to De Mori. He probably would have got a shot somewhere along the line if he was managed properly to start with. havent seen enough of him to know whether he will be competitive but if his record is anything to go by Wilder may make quick work of it.

I know he is in America with King at the moment.

Can anyone be classed as a victim or ' used ' anymore after signing with King.
I mean you would have to have been living under a rock for 30 years not to know what he is and how he makes his money

I think Mark is just where he wants to be.
Rubbing shoulders with the " BIG SHOTS " but never testing himself against a live one who will inflict some real damage.
Club fighters with super padded records don't get title shots.
The bloke is delusional.

A club fighter with a glass jaw just got the last shot at Wilder. No reason Mark can't get one.

I am sure that Mark de Mori doesn't want to step up, he can probably make a decent living at this level and call himself a world champion. Not much risk of Saul Farah, the habitual Bolivian heavyweight champion, defeating him; just like all of his other recent opponents...

You're right, Molina was a shocker.
His fights against Wilder and Arreola should be a good lesson to de Mori to abandon any thoughts of moving
higher up the food chain if he values his health. :OhYes:

I've recently interviewed Mark. The interview won't be published for a bit, but he loves boxing. He loves the sport and the challenges. He has been wanting bigger fights, but it just hasn't been happening for him. He also was clear that he wants to earn as much as he can, so he tries to stay active regardless. He's a standup guy, and I feel bad the way his management has been mis-handling him. He's better than a lot of people think. Not a top fighter by any means, but a solid B level heavy.

IMO, Mark should distance himself from US flag waving clown. King ain't "king" he once was

Blaming your management is easy. But when you have fought over a long period under many different managers and always fought poor level opponents blaming your management is just a cop out.

I'm just saying what I took from the interview. Not saying he want to be in with the toughest, but I know he'd rather be fighting at least a level above where he currently is. But he's fighting for money, and his management wants to keep that coming in. If they don't have faith in him, they won't agree to matching him tough.

Of course not. No point being disrespectful or confrontational with an athlete generous enough to give you their time. And my interview was on his physical training more than anything else.

Says Mark is fighting for the WBC Eurasia Belt. Isn't that still Browne's?
Must have given it up along with the Commonwealth belt

Must have given it up along with the Commenwealth belt
The WBC EPBC Title was vacated around 11th of August

I believe WBC titles you have 9 months to defend till title automatically vacates
WBA I believe is 12 months

Im not 100% about the others

Thanks Benny - so he might not have any when he fights Chagaev?

I wonder if De Mori will fight a "live" opponent? (someone in the top 150)

De Mori has split with Don King. That has to be a good thing. In 8 years King has done nothing for him other than get him inflated rankings.

Can someone explain how Don King actually made $$$ out of fighters he'd sign, only to not put them in the ring?De Mori's definitely not the only guy Don King did this to,I think Kali Meehan had the same sort of issues too...anyone able to shed light on this?

Plays the odds. Sometimes it comes off sometimes it doesn't. Essentially a gambling game.

If Stiverne had won, he could have had a world title fight with whoever won still being contracted to him.

With Wilders first defence he had 2 fighters in the mix in Mark and Molina.

Sometimes DK wins, makes money, sometimes he doesn't.

I heard that after Wilder took the belt off Stiverne, De Mori was offered big money to fight Parker. Apparently DKP were good with it but De Mori said no.
Not defending DK - he's a piece of slime, just saying now De Mori has missed out on his shot (and he won't get one now), he might get a better payday elsewhere
