Yes, it was sounding too much like a repeat of poor Mago. I still do not know what happened to him in that subway tunnel. I think there was a trial or hearing of some sort and they determined that no one was at fault but himself. Was it a cover up? he had dangerous enemies.

Denis Boytsov - Birthday with the family
Published on 14.02.2018 by Johannes Passehl
On February 14, former heavyweight boxer Denis Boytsov spent his 32nd birthday with his family. He is in a German rehabilitation clinic and is being treated there on an ongoing basis. Doctors hope that his condition will continue to stabilize and improve slowly.
Denis Boytsov was long considered one of the best young heavyweight. He had worked his way up with the help of the Sauerland boxing stable and qualified for a title fight against Wladimir Klitschko. To keep him busy until then, he went on 23 November 2013 against the Australian Alex Lepai in the ring. Boytsov had been unbeaten in 33 matches so far, and hardly anyone thought in advance that this would change in the 34th fight. Apparently, the highly motivated Australians had been underestimated and Boytsov was ill prepared for the fight. Boytsov had to 2x to the ground and lost the fight with 98:90 and 2x 96:92. Leapai "inherited" the challenge right and later defeated Klitschko by TKO 5. Boytsov then stood 3x in the ring and won those bouts.
On the night of May 2 to 3, 2015, Boytsov's fate was about to turn bad. He was found by a subway driver lying in the track bed between the Berlin railway stations Bismarckstraße and Wilmersdorfer Straße. He was found there with a shattered skull and it was not clear if he would survive that. After 7 weeks of coma, he showed no reaction when he woke up and he was in an absent twilight state. To put it bluntly, he floated between heaven and earth, between alive and alive dead. The progress of his recovery dragged on. Here is an "interim report" of the "Hamburger Abendblatt" from April 2016, one year after the incident that forever changed the world of Denis Boytsov: (click)
The exact circumstances that put Boytsov in this position are still not well known. That Boytsov will never box again, plays only a minor role. His family and friends do not give up hope for recovery. He recognizes his wife and also knows his at the time of his injury not yet born daughter. His condition reminds of Eduard Gutknecht. Both are struggling with their consequences for the most serious head injuries throughout their lives.
One can only wish Denis Boysov and his small family that his condition can get better. Even if nothing will be as it once was.

He did what now? You might have a small typo there
I hope the poor guy can still regain more of himself. Brain injuries are hellish thing but they can some times keep on healing for long time and eventually get bit better. I hope that this would be the case this time too... Keep on fighting

Rather! The article was translated from the German. I didn't notice that bit of mistranslation.
I don't think we even know what really happened to him that night. They say he was drunk and fell off the train platform and hit his head, and he was a heavy drinker, but he also had gangsters threatening his life. I think there was a witness who said he saw him being attacked by several men.

I still wonder what's true about the SMS promotions argue he appearantly had. It doesn't look like a tipical accident to me.

I don't believe the official story. There was a witness who saw him attacked by a group of men. He had been getting threats from gangsters. They say he got all those injuries just from falling off a train platform. Train platforms aren't that high. A very athletic and muscular young man like Boytsov who was drunk and fell off a train platform would probably just jump back up again. Maybe he'd have a little bruise or two. What does he say? I've heard he can't speak. Can that be true? Can't he communicate by writing then? Cover up going on I think.
