Re: Tony Ayala is dead
Was it Ayala who supposedly beat up Pipino Cuevas in sparring when he (Ayala) was about 15 or 16? Allegedly?
Re: Tony Ayala is dead
Yep. And I think it was proven that Cuevas was in another state at the time

Re: Tony Ayala is dead
Hahaha the usual sparring story then
Re: Tony Ayala is dead
When ayala returned in the late 90s as a mw he was oy really 6lbs or so heavier than his lean prime .but the older ayala looked shocking like a fat slob.a real fat piece of ssssssssshit like your fat mexican uncle at a banquet who eats loads of green chillies raw with every mouthful

Re: Tony Ayala is dead
I think Ayala was a mere boy when he handled Cuevas. Cuevas' manager was asking him afterwards, 'Aren't you ashamed at what he did to you?' and all Cuevas could mutter was, 'Increible!'
That's roughly how Berger related the tale.

Re: Tony Ayala is dead
Just another sparring story legend.
A little punk ass like Ayala, who was supposedly 13 at the time, would have been road kill for a pure, mature puncher like Pipino.
Don't believe the hype. The Ayalas were always full of BS.

An autopsy has confirmed Ayala died of a heroin overdose.

I think he's heavy on the sauce by the vitriolic sound of recent posts...Ayala was trash but my fat Mexican uncles nothing to do with it

It was Phil Berger relating the story, a shrewd observer who was entrenched in boxing gyms. He was not a man to place confidence in pugilist fantasia.SenorPipino wrote:Just another sparring story legend.

He should have taken his final needle several decades earlier and saved the women of San Antonio from some sleepless nights
Re: Tony Ayala is dead
I agree though it seems callous, he seems to have caused an awful lot of pain and misery. I'd like to think if I were going to cause such horrible harm to people (rape etc) that I'd take myself out of the game - treat myself to a really big hit of smack and not wake up.SenorPipino wrote:Big surprise.bogan whisperer wrote:An autopsy has confirmed Ayala died of a heroin overdose.

Only with people who really didn't want it, that's what the rope etc was for Tom.Tomasino wrote:palooka wrote:I think the tying up, rapes and sodomy he did were worse than selling.mugabi wrote:So he was involved in the dirty business of drugs........the no good lousy .....

Re: Tony Ayala is dead
So your answer to which ones have you researched is "none at all".bogan whisperer wrote:Have you been able to prove any correct?Tuan_Jim wrote:Which ones have you researched?
Berger, who was up close and in the game, related the story. That counts for something.
You - nobody - contests the story, because of your brainless received wisdom 'sparring stories are all myths'. Page knocking down Tyson would get the same dismissal from you, had it not been captured on videotape.
Can you prove a Greek conquest if we only have Herodotus' word for it? 'Prove it to me, or it never happened!' Where does it end, using your silly logic?

I'll continue to take sparring stories with a grain of salt like most others do.Tuan_Jim wrote:So your answer to which ones have you researched is "none at all".bogan whisperer wrote:Have you been able to prove any correct?Tuan_Jim wrote:Which ones have you researched?
