I think the whole flow of the fight was different from what most were expecting. I thought algieri would be chasing shadows and as it went later khan would get s calzaghe esque stoppage. Wasn't expecting algieri to be landing big punches and forcing khan on his bike for the fight.

Disclaimer - the above is based on fight reports and rbr. Not seen it live

I thought it was closer than those 2 scorecards suggest.

I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to the commentary but I though I heard Barry Jones say he had Algieri 4-1 up after 5 then Khan well ahead after 9?

May have misheard him.

I predicted a KO win for Khan but it was apparent pretty early that it was unlikely to happen,I had it a draw 114-114,I wasn't impressed with Amir last night,I cant remember him landing too many shots, for me all the best punches and certainly the most power punches came from Algieri, there was a lot of close rounds where Amir pot shotted then danced out the way, a lot of they single right hands from Chris were enough to win rounds IMO,a lot of the rounds Khan won were due to be slightly busier rather than his accuracy and better punches

Credit to Algieri though,he was excellent last night and 2 of the cards were way off IMO

That was not the Amir Khan i know. He was a far, far better fighter under Roach, whatever it is Hunter is trying to turn him into, i dont like it.

If he gets the Mayweather fight and fights like he did against Algieri i give no chance.

I've been of the opinion that Khan troubles Mayweather but having seen him struggle with Algieri last night,I might have to reevaluate my stance

Khan under Roach would stand a chance of getting a points win over Mayweather, Khan under Hunter = no chance. Last nights performance confirmed that.

Why? if the Pacman can't do it Khan certainly isn't.

How did everyone score it, I had 115-113 for Khan, but allegedly commentary seemed to have it a lot wider, seemed pretty biased

I couldn't believe the amount of people who predicted a Khan stoppage victory. Anyone who goes 24 rounds with Provodnikov & Pacquiao is not likely to be stopped by Khan.

Incidentally, anyone still claiming Khan would beat Mayweather should probably stop following boxing :TU:

What surprised me most was how big Algieri looked. Against Provodnikov and Pacquiao he looked tall but quite slight. He seems to have bulked up quite considerably and looked a weight division above Khan. Anybody know what the weights were on the night?

I predicted a Khan KO and geve Amir a great shout against Mayweather, I thought Pacquiao didnt have the fire these days to finish Algieri off and Provodnikov was too crude to KO Chris,I thought Khan had the right blend of skills and youth to get Algieri outta there,

I better go cancel the ppv,

Algieri looked like a middleweight in there no idea what the difference was on the night but it looked substantial.

I thought Khan would win a wide UD and basically have his way with Algieri but Algieri had a game plan and fought a decent fight. Respect to both guys. Was a good fight and I enjoyed it. Maybe Mayweather will be a bit more tempted to take the fight with Khan now? Not that I think Khan deserves it but he must be in Floyds thoughts.

 I'm not that bad ,2nd in the prediction league :box: ,although the Khan KO 9 might see some slippage

My wild pick tonight is Selby to win by absolute domination :bag:

I have a feeling Floyd might be saving Khan for his 50th & final fight - would probably be one of the few fights Floyd could win by ko.

Khan purposely toiled against Algieri last night to tempt Mayweather into taking him on,it was a shrewd plan that should come off

People can slag Amir off all they want but even his biggest critics cant call him dumb, the guys a genius :D

Selby to win by wide decision isn't too bad of a wild pick, although I do think it'll be fairly close.

Don't want to talk anymore about it, as I'll end up caving in & buying the PPV

115-113 either way or 114-114. Was a very close and competitive fight.

allegedly comms were terrible.

I meant to say he would stand a better chance under Roach. I believe he was a far better fighter when he trained at the wild card, they played to his stregnths. Hunter is trying to shape him into something new, what i have seen lately is not adding to his game, he is an inferior fighter now. Pacquiao would tear him apart, Mayweather, going on last nights performance, would shut him down and pick him off and coast to a points win, or maybe even stop him. I seen nothing from Khan last night that would trouble either.

I'd like to see him move on from Hunter but doubt that will happen anytime soon.

That aint happening either mate. He'd be lucky to grind a close points decision IMO. In fact I lean towards the Gradovich wins.

Great comments from Khan included "This is the best Algieri we've seen in a long time" and my personal favourite "He had a big chin tonight"
