Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Yoan Pablo Hernandez defends his IBF title against Victor Emelio Ramirez in Ramirez's backyard. Should be a great fight.
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
I'm not sure about Kolodziej yet but Janik hasn't impressed me with his performances. You may be correct that Janik is better.dagilechia wrote:i dont think Kolodziej is better than Janik. he lost KO 2 Lebedev after full camp and Janik lost KO 9 to Drozd annouced one week before fight. and Kolodziej beat only bums. i dont even think he is better than Michal Cieslak. btw Kolodziej is a HW now but his HW debut is cancelled becuse some medical problems with Kolozdiej's eyes

What is your status as a boxer? If you only have a few amateur bouts and are sparring with any top pro, you are going to think they are all great. Kayode has given up on the idea of boxing as a heavyweight, at least for the time being.Re-up Gang wrote:been sparring with durodola for his upcoming fight. the guy is good very strong big and hits hard and fights both ways.
lost to mchunu in an awkarwd fight .
has beat kayoed twice in amateurs one via stoppage.
also believe challenge should definitely be above kayode. he has proved it better higher level opposition, i thought kayode is a heavyweight now though.
very good effort with your list keep it up.

spot on you are right. only had a few fights, so i guess you correct.
however from knowledge and analysis i make my point above though not just because i sparred him this is also from what i have watched and applied critical reasoning to. the added insight from sparring is just that added insight

Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Janik had a close fight against Afolabi, and Janik fears no one, and dont talk about Drozd fight because he was just unprepared, i think prepared Janik easily gives Drozd 12 rounds, Kolodziej just dont have mental abilities for boxing. he lost against to Lebedev before the fight started, he was sweating hearing Lebedev entrace song and Russian anthem so much that i was scared that he will rehydrate. and he is very chinny he was down against bums like Ikeji, and also not much power in his punches. i think young prospect Cieslak KO's himDennis wrote:I'm not sure about Kolodziej yet but Janik hasn't impressed me with his performances. I think Kayode has faced better opposition than has Durodola. Granted he had a draw to Tarver and a loss to Ortiz changed to No Contests because both guys tested positive for Steroids.
Maybe these two should fight for Nigerian bragging rights.

sparring him here tomorrow morning, i'll bring it up again he already told me he has beaten kayode my times in the amateur and even stopped him as well as sparring. long story short he deposit rate him.
he did say he rates lebedev big time as he has sparred with him and also thinks highly of kudryashov, doesn't rate machine reckons few more rounds he'd have got to him as his gas tank is poor guess make showed that

Cruiserweight would be a great division if the top guys fought each other and if a US media friendly (read American) contender was in the top three or four in the world. The US is still the media capital of the western world so it would help promote cruiserweights if the best Europeans moved their camps to sunny California or Vegas. It worked wonders in the old days.
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Jordan is looking to be that American cruiserweight to bring media attention to the division.

Kennedy beat Fry by a close UD and should replace him in my rankings.
Nielsen won a clear UD but does not get the KO. He won like he should have but that doesn't tell us whether he's truly a top 15 boxer.

Beibut Shumenov vs BJ Flores for the WBA Interim cruiserweight title on the PBC on NBCSN show July 25th.
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Thoughts on Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs Victor Emilio Ramirez fight?
Ramirez looks strong and has a good chin but can be outboxed. I think Hernandez schools him from the outside and makes it difficult fit Ramirez when he does get inside. I just wonder about the officiating and hope the real winner of the fight gets his hand raised at the end.

Tomorrow night Vyacheslav Shabranskiy vs Paul Parker. This could be a very good fight. Short notice for Parker but he's in good shape even when he doesn't have a fight scheduled. He hasn't sparred much but hopefully that won't be an issue. Shabranskiy has more experience. They are about the same height. Parker may have longer arms. Slight speed advantage to Parker. It will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
The Shabranskyy vs Parker show tonight has between switched to Fox Sports 2 (FS2).

Jordan Shimmell vs Isiah Thomas for the vacant USBA cruiserweight title is the co-main event on the same card.Dennis wrote:Beibut Shumenov vs BJ Flores for the WBA Interim cruiserweight title on the PBC on NBCSN show July 25th.

I really want to see the belt on your son.
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Jordan has to win the USBA title fight on July 25th first. Then a world title shot could happen in his next fight or soon thereafter. 2015 or 2016.tiny_acres wrote:Dennis what are your expectations on when Jordan will get a title shot?Dennis wrote:Jordan Shimmell vs Isiah Thomas for the vacant USBA cruiserweight title is the co-main event on the same card.Dennis wrote:Beibut Shumenov vs BJ Flores for the WBA Interim cruiserweight title on the PBC on NBCSN show July 25th.

Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Dennis I am confident that Jordan wins on the 25th
He is ready for the title.
He is ready for the title.
Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
Eh....I think you're going too far. While Jordan is promising there is a massive gap between the division's champions and anyone Jordan has faced, and while Thomas is a step-up I don't see what he's done to suggest that beating him means that someone is ready for one of the champs. At this point I would make Jordan a sizable underdog against Drozd, Lebedev, Huck, and Hernandez, but he's still young and has plenty of time to improve as he gains experience so I think for now he should hold off jumping into the deep end.tiny_acres wrote:Dennis I am confident that Jordan wins on the 25th

Re: Best Cruiserweights from various countries
For me Yoan Pablo Hernandez is the best cruiser in the world. But his inactivity will soon catch up with him and maybe Ramirez will do the job.
From a British point of view I'm a huge Ovill Mckenzie fan. He's improved a lot in the past 24 months. He has two losses against Bellew but personally at cruiser I think he's the better fighter. Where he's improved I think Bellew looks stale.
Chakhkiev looks good aswell. I fancy him to be a world champion in the next 12 months.

my boy durodola completely destroyed kudryashnov.
told you he is fit strong and has a good chin and hits so bloody hard. i never trade with him no point everyone will come off second best. i outbox him mchunu showed the blueprint. kudryshov used to people falling over when he hits them he is also used to fighting moving forward all the time on the front foot tactic here was for us to push him back and actually hit him and see how he reacts.
