For all those who like me, are not a fan of smith, this is the perfect fight to watch him in. We've already seen him knocked cold and heard his excuses but he's getting schooled tonight.

I agree with Handsofstones post on the boards shitty behaviour towards Limond and the British title being held up by Smith. He's an arrogant cock.

Ward 171lbs
Smith 176.4lbs

I think that just about sums Smith up sadly.

I like him, he is bolshy but then he is a scouser so there we have it. His good points are he is smart, quick witted and had good points to make, if I remember rightly, he left here after being needled off a few of the ESB crew (who have now long gone) who were led by an arsehole named robpalmer135.

Comes in a 176.....4.4 lbs over the catch weight limit.

I cant see how an experienced boxer can make this mistake, is this a ploy by Smith and Gallagher as they know skill wise Ward is on a different planet?

So you have to be a Scouser to be Bolshy? bit of a generalisation if I ever heard one

Smith looks in terrible shape, look how soft his middle is (clearly sucking his gut in as well) has he even bothered training for this?

I hope the tosser loses half his purse.

He weighed in 9lbs higher than he usually fights at. That is disgraceful he clearly was not arsed hope his purse is reduced significantly.

At least he has his excuse at the ready

Hope Andre digs that flabby body. Pretty disgraceful but just proves a lot of his naysayers correct. He's not dedicated and is undeserving of this chance.

Fifth paragraph in the above how the tables have turned.

Shame I can't find the video sure he was very critical of Fielding (and rightfully so) but this is 4 pounds over what he usually fights at so 8lbs over

Just read on the ESPN site that it's going to cost him $45K of his $225K purse, half goes to Ward, half to the commission.

Poor Smiggs

If it was going to make a big difference i'd say why not but i think he must have too much money if he can throw away that kind of cash and it's not like he ever struggled to make supermiddle, this weight i'd imagine will do him absolutely no favours whatsoever and will only make him more of a target should the fight go late and he slows down with the extra weight.

You can see the weight on him ,he's got love handles .you'd think he'd make sure he was in shape for his toughest fight

When I read about the weight, I was expecting him to look worse than that. Smith doesn't look super cut at Super Middle.

Ward looks like he can make super middle easily enough.

I think it shows that he thinks he has no chance - which whilst everyone thinks the same, is a poor approach. He would have trained his arse off for this if he had any self belief - to give himself the faintest of chances. At the end of the day, even if he is a rank underdog, this is a shot at the world title, against the guy most people figure to be - despite the layoff, the best SM in the world, by some distance as well - might as well have a go eh?

Be funny if after all that he knocked Ward out in the 1st.

Wow your right,i bet Ward hasn't seen that,it reminded me of when Tommy Hearns stepped up to lightheavy against Dennis Andries and looked huge and devastating,i can see Ward walking onto one of those big rights and getting chinned.

Thought it might of been muscle as let's face it its going to be extremely hard to win on points but looking at that pic it's just fat around the mid section. Anyone know how camp went was he injured/not well for parts as it seems weird because it's always looked like he makes the weight easy
